"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Trapp Family Lodge. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and dinner at the Lodge, and both were delicious, with excellent service. The gardens are well maintained, with plenty of flowering planets to attract birds. The room was relatively standard - very clean, plenty of light, and comfortable bed. We would happily stay there again if we had the opportunity. "

"Rooms were exactly as advertised and very clean. The service went from great to average to great again. The restaurant staff seemed a bit inexperienced. The food was very good. The presentation and service was just above average. The staff attempted to address the issues and I would recommend giving it another try. "

"We stayed at the house for seven nights with five people and everything was perfect. It is in a great central location where you can access all the local reserves and restaurants downtown. Laurie set us up with Raul Jr for a bird watching tour and a night hike. He was the greatest, very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and history of the area. He was able to locate everything we had on our wish list.I would advise you to bring one heavier set of clothing because it can get cold in the night, which we were told beforehand. It was only cold the first night, but we had what we needed and there is a wood stove. There's a beautiful pair of Masked Tityra that must be nesting in the area. Keep the hummingbird feeders full! We will all remember that view forever."

"My mom and I had a wonderful 2-night stay here in March. Yes, the road to get to the rental is a bit rough and primitive, but we expected that and we had no issues with our 4x4 rental. I do suggest a 4x4. There is a gate to the house that made us feel safe. Upon arriving, we were in awe of the beauty of the landscaping and the view! The grounds are very well-maintained with interesting flora and fauna everywhere you look. We had a great time just sitting outside, eating lunch and taking in the views. We also loved the balcony upstairs- a great spot for a glass of wine and sunset! The inside was very well decorated, clean, and very homey. We loved the bathroom- it was nice and clean and had a spa feel. And thank goodness for hot water! I also appreciated the little details- extra robes, towels and toiletry supplies. The host left us some breakfast food that we really appreciated- eggs, bread, avocado, tomato, banana, jam and OJ. As soon as we got there, the host stopped by and checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed. Overall- this place was a 10/10! PURA VIDA!"

"The property has no air conditioning! Yes if we cranked a window would be perfect but the window had no protection from any wild life! No net nothing"

"Raul was great. The location and secludedness of the cabin was wonderful and the cloud forest property was beautiful. My son especially enjoyed the hummingbird feeders and seeing the amazing variety of hummingbirds. If you’re a camper you’ll likely really enjoy a stay here. But the cabin itself needs some repair. Several outlets and outdoor lights were not working. One of the upstairs windows had been replaced with plastic sheeting. We had some mice and two scorpions. So if you’re not ok with very rustic nature, you probably want to look elsewhere. That being said, my family enjoyed the time here. "
