O Principe is a basic standard hotel. It's a no frills hotel but if you need a room just to crash out, leave your bags, and shower, this place is perfect. Seriously, why would someone travel just to spend the day in a hotel room anyways? The hotel is run by two brothers who aren't very talkative. This hostel is in absolutely terrible conditions. The rooms are extremely dirty - I was afraid I would catch a disease - the bed cloth has holes and blood stains, the paint is peeling, the bathroom smells bad. The beds are uncomfortable - super think mattress - the TV got only 1 channel and sits on the mini-refrigerator, the door doesn't close well. The only positive thing about this hostel is the location: near the Farol da Barra and public transportation. Still, I do not recommend this hostel!
