Such a shame that such a beautiful building can be so delapidated. The single bed was tiny when you could easils have fitted a double in there and it wasn't even cheap at 70 quid !!! Clearly meant only for lorry drivers and contractors. I enjoyed the full English breakfast every morning which was cooked to order and a self service area for tea, coffee, toast etc. Since my last visit a couple of years ago the Wi-Fi has been much improved and the small TV has been replaced with a 40" smart TV. The grounds are always well kept. The only downside was using Expedia for the first time. They told me my room was booked but Saltburn House weren't sent my details. My room allocation was quickly sorted. Breakfast was great! Staff couldn't have done more and I really enjoyed it. I didn't use the bar, but it seemed busy. The bed's mattress was very firm. All linen was beautifully crisp and clean. Fluffy, quality white towels. Shower was easy to use and lovely and hot with no problems. Could have done with towel rail in the bathroom (in bedroom) and a bedside shelf/table (one at bed bottom). This is a huge, very old hotel which could do with a refurb. But is blatantly well-loved and was very busy! It's a stone's throw from the beating heart of the town. There isn't a hotel car park and parking wasn't too easy. I would return.
