The room was quite modern & comfortable especially considering the building is -800 years old. The location is fabulous. Chris checked us in & was very helpful, as were the other members of staff. We highly recommend the Chapter House to anyone who appreciates a hotel with a bit of character.

Lovely place to stay with exceptional staff and a great restaurant. Highly recommended. Only qualification is that it is far from ideal for people with limited mobility due to the lack of a lift and uneven steps.

An overnight stay for two elderly people.
The room was cold on a cold day. The floors were very uneven and unsuitable for the elderly or infirm who are unsteady on their feet.

What a lovely quaint, charming and lovely property. The staff was excellent and the food outstanding, Location is perfect for all the things to do In Salisbury. Highly recommend!

This place was convenient to the Cathedral and a good base for heading off to Stonehenge. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is a place to drop off luggage and inexpensive municipal parking is available around to corner. The staff were very helpful in helping me navigate this. We ate dinner and breakfast here and it was fine. This is a very old pub and the accommodations are very funky, but with new shower and toilet rooms. This is not a place for anyone requiring an accessible room, but it’s nice enough and a bit fun for a night.

Gracious staff. Delicious breakfast buffet. Great location near the cathedral. Our room was nice but small. The wonky stairs (and no elevator) means this wouldn't be a good choice for anyone with mobility issues.

One of my new favourite hotels. An old place fixed up nice. Room was very comfortable, excellent bed, bathrooms have been modernly renovated. We asked the cab driver (a £6 cab to Salisbury station) for restaurant recommendations and he replied “you’re staying there”! Turns out they have a very popular restaurant that serves some of the best steaks I’ve had. They age their own beef, the menu was superb. Breakfast was awesome, custom made Eggs Benny and full English breakfast, along with fresh croissants, fruit,etc. Staff was genuinely friendly. Right across the street from St Anne’s gate to the Cathedral. A few blocks to the Market Square and lots of good places to eat. Highly recommended.

Very charming, very old building. 800 years. As close as you can get to where the History and action are. The dining is absolutely amazing, best steak I’ve had in years. The staff is very warm and helpful.

The Chapter House was an amazing unique very old inn that had been built over 600 years ago! Consequently, the rooms, stairs, halls, everything were totally quirky and wonderful. There were very nice fans in each room to combat any stuffy feel. The beds and pillows were cozy. Staff were super friendly, the food in the restaurant was top notch; and I especially recommend Sunday roast!! Our favorite place we stayed on our trip (out of 7 different places!). Highly recommend!

Faultless Fabulous, Perfectly Situated Hotel
Stayed for 1 night in The Chapter House, Salisbury, wished the stay was longer. This stunning 16th Century hotel and restaurant is located right in the heart of Salisbury, walking distance from the cathedral, located directly opposite the hotel, market square and numerous other city centre attractions. There is no car parking on site, however, on arrival by car, stop outside the hotel entrance and obtain a 24-hour parking voucher for a nearby car park, literally 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The £8 cost will be added to your bill. The beautiful, but very old bedrooms are exquisite, especially the executive rooms. Although 16th Century, the bedrooms have every facility you would require, including iron, ironing board, safe, electric fan. The large bed is extremely comfortable with high class sheets, pillows and pillowcases etc. We ate in the Chapter House restaurant which matched the bedrooms for quality. Booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. All four of our dining party ordered steak, which is probably one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, sentiments shared by all four of us. Good sized portions, perfectly cooked and delicious. Overall, a faultless stay in a fabulous perfectly situated, historic hotel.

Considering It's a 16th century hotel, it's been very well preserved give its age. The restaurant is great , amazing steak. Very nice staff. Only one thing bothered me, because it's an old place so there's no AC, it happened I was there at the hottest day in the summer. Even they were nice to set a Dyson fan in the room, it was still too hot at night! Couldn't really sleep at all, I can't complain about the hotel itself, just bad timing I guess

Enjoyed staying in this historic place. Room was very nice. Staff is excellent. It was unseasonably warm and because it’s a historical property there is no ac so it was very warm. Excellent high quality fan in room made it bearable.

The location of the Chapter House is very convenient for visiting Salisbury Cathedral and the town of Salisbury. The building is over 800 years old and Charles I is reported to have stayed in the Chapter House. The restaurant on the ground floor served great food. My first impression of The Chapter House was very good because of the staff. The Manager greeted me, checked me in, explained where to park our car to my husband, helped us unload the car and carry our bags to our rooms. One of his staff, Louie, proved to be helpful with the bags, our breakfast orders and our checkout.
