Parking was a huge benefit. The location was conveniently close enough to the downtown fun but far enough to avoid traffic and loud areas at the end of the evening. The neighborhood is cute, walkable to food, and felt very safe. Leo was also quick to respond to messages and thoughtful to check in and ask if we needed anything. Such a cute comfortable apartment this is. There are 3 stories to the house with this unit being the ground floor. It certainly has all the comforts you could wish for, great beds and linens, spacious rooms, and easy access (make sure you get a good straight on approach to the driveway). The big bonus is the backyard space. Plenty of seating around a firepit supplied with wood, the happy chickens in their secure pen, and the most fabulous well tended vegetable garden. It feels as if you're on a little farm and belies the fact that you're so close to the action in Salem. The neighborhood is lovely with a few walkable stores and restaurants. The place is walking distance to Salem (about a 1mile walk to dowtown). The neighborhood was fairly quiet. The chickens in the backyard weren't an issue and they were actually fun to watch in our downtime. The parking area behind the house was sufficient for our vehicle and one other that stayed there. The place was clean and the bedrooms were nice. The only thing is, be aware that this is a 3 unit building and that wouldn't be an issue but there were people that stayed above us (we stayed on 1st floor unit), that were very inconsiderate and came in late and were extremely loud and it sounded like they were breaking into the house. But all in all was a good place to stay whether it was a weekend or a longer stay. If we make it back to Salem we will be looking this place up again. Thank you to the host. ##### david s. Beds were very comfortable. The floors are paper thin and we could hear the people on 2nd story sneeze and cough. They were pretty loud until late so we did have trouble sleeping on two nights. Numerous blinds are broken but the blinds in bathroom are broken in a spot that leaves no privacy if using restroom. We hung up a towel over the blinds to feel comfortable. The sink and shower were not cleaned great as there was hair on both when we arrived. I think overall the cleaning needdd to be much better. There was lipstick on a coffee cup on counter that wiped right off so it wasn’t stained. Food was under kitchen table. I am picky about cleanliness but I think some big things were missed or need to be fixed. ##### Heather M. It was so close to everything in Salem. We were able to park our car and walk everywhere! Also close to the train to head to Boston too. Not having to deal with the headache of downtown parking in October is a plus ()! Unit was clean overall, however a couple towels had holes in them and the shower curtain liner needed to be cleaned or replaced. Communication with the host was very easy and fast, as was the check in/check out process. I would absolutely stay here again for a return trip to Salem in the future! ##### Scott R. I loved the fact that in the middle of the city, they have utilized their property to make it country like with a garden and chickens. The house is close to main shopping areas. We did however run out of bleach and there was no dishwasher detergent so we washed most of the dishes by hand.
