"I arrived and the owner wasn’t expecting me even though I had booked earlier that day through Expedia. The room was fine, hard mattress but I like that. A bit outdated and hard worn sheets but I slept really well. I asked about dinner and the owner said yes 7:30. I was sat in reception alone (in the dark as the light kept going off) and served a bowl of pasta with chopped up smoked salmon and cheese, a dry crepe and a terrible packaged flan. It certainly wasn’t worth €22 I think I received a...

"Stayed here whilst visiting a chateau in the area. Lovely peaceful surroundings, giant chess in the vast gardens and a tree swing. Added bonus for us was the free electric charge points. You had to get a code from reception and they were only slow chargers but that was ideal for us as we plugged in overnight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet clean room overlooking the gardens. Perfect venue for a bigger gathering too."

ibis Styles Segre

10/10 Excellent

"This is a great basic hotel near Lion d’Anger. Very comfortable and quiet with a nice breakfast and restaurant. Easy parking. And very nice staff! My only recommendation would be to have electric car charging installed in the parking."

10/10 Excellent

"I was tempted to leave a terrible review to put everyone else off but that seemed perhaps a little unfair. This was the most magical, wonderful place to spend time with our children who were utterly entranced with the ponds and loved every moment in the pools. By day #2, one of our 7 year olds was asking if there are schools nearby and could we just live here? Beautiful gardens, fabulous wildlife (learning the French for hedgehog!), late sunsets and a lovely host. Thank you. "

Chambres d'Hôtes Les Clefs du Bonheur

10/10 Excellent

"At first there was a bit of a mixup regarding accommodation but the owner went out of her way to rectify the situation & was more than helpful. Had a very nice meal at a local restaurant Contine. The breakfast which was included was very good with home made preserves etc. Parking on the street wasn't a problem at all. Would recommend staying in this beautiful historic small chateau. Thank you."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Saint-Martin-Du-Limet?

The best area to stay in Saint-Martin-Du-Limet is within the village itself or the immediate surrounding countryside.

The village of Saint-Martin-Du-Limet is small and offers a tranquil experience. It's characterised by its traditional stone houses and the local church, Eglise Saint-Martin, which is a central landmark. The area is largely rural, with fields and hedgerows defining the landscape, providing a genuine taste of the French countryside.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the village and its surroundings ideal. It offers a chance to disconnect and enjoy quiet walks through the lanes or simply relax in a serene setting. The lack of major attractions means the focus is on the beauty of the natural environment and local life.

For families, staying in a gîte or a larger holiday home just outside the village can be a good option. These often come with more space, outdoor areas for children to play, and easy access to the countryside for exploring.

When is the best time to go to Saint-Martin-Du-Limet?

The best time to go to Saint-Martin-Du-Limet is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September.

During these months, you'll experience the most pleasant weather, with warmer temperatures and more sunshine, which is ideal for exploring the Loire Valley. May and June offer comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities without the peak summer crowds, while July and August are the warmest, superb for enjoying the local markets and château gardens. September provides a lovely transition with mild weather and the start of the harvest season, often with fewer tourists.

Travellers looking to enjoy the region's natural beauty and outdoor activities, such as cycling along the Loire River or visiting vineyards, will find these months perfect. The longer daylight hours allow for extended exploration of the numerous châteaux and picturesque villages.
