The pool was tiny with bars around it and damaged flooring. The surrounding garden area has broken floor tiles and rusty seats. The breakfast was a joke, there was not enough food or drink and the machines kept breaking. The rooms were old fashioned, creepy and unclean. The staff were rude and acted as though they couldn’t care less about our concerns.

Dear Madam, I thank you for sharing your review about our hotel. I'm sincerely sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations... I'm quiet surprised about your remark about the floor in the garden. If it was so damaged, we do not allow access to our customers for security and this is not the case here. We noticed a tile on the ground slightly raised but which does not present any major danger and which remains under surveillance by the technical team.About rust, it is formed in particular in contact with water and we have a swimming pool a few meters away. In my opinion, this is not a lack of cleanliness.We are sorry for the inconvenience about the breakfast during your stay. I've just shared your comment to the F&B service to know more about what happened on that day and to avoid future occurrence. I'm sorry again if the room didn't bring you satisfaction. Our hotel may be fully renovated very soon and until 2024. Our staff strive to be available for each guest and to do his best to bring a solution when you encounter any inconvenience and to show empathy. It would be great for us to know more about the staff you found rude to take the right measures and to know what happened. Kind regards,

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great. Bed was comfortable. Close to lots of good restaurants and things to do. We were very pleased with our stay!

The hotel had no water when we arrived. So after driving 6 hours we couldn’t use our bathroom. Rooms are tired & basic. The bedding was awful polyester waterproof type sheets….not nice. Staff were polite.

We had travelled from the Dordogne and travelled onto Calais the next day. Ideal location.Helpful, cheerful staff Nd dog friendly. Enjoyed the stay

Good location for a transit hotel, which is how we were using it. Good parking, friendly staff, room was clean, although it had been smoked in at some time. Close to a forest so good for exercising. Had a good meal next to pool. Good breakfast, plenty of choice and well presented. Would use again as a stop over.
I was not happy because I book for 3 adults in 1 room and they had only booking for 2 adults so I had to pay the extra.

After finally managing to track down a waiter to take order, wish we hadn’t bothered. Food was very poor. Two meals were indescribable, one was entirely incorrect, one of the 4 meals entirely inedible. Executive rooms looked they needed a deep clean.

The hotel bar, reception area and other spaces were fine, our room was generally good except for the carpet which was dirty and very strained - not nice
The room was very nice and very welcome following a long drive. However the restaurant was only providing BBQ food (no other menu). It was expensive and my chicken was not cooked - not good for a brand such as Novotel. I did mention it and didn’t pay for my portion. We also had a chipped glass and certain items had run out at breakfast time. So all in all I was looking forward to staying at the Novotel (not cheap) but was quite dissapointed.

All very good, hotel rooms could do with updating. The disappointing thing for us was no restaurant service only a outdoor bbq with limited choice so had to go out to restaurant to eat.
We stayed here after having previously had a good experience. However when we went this summer we realised there was no air con in the hotel and no working fans were available. For the price I’d expect better so I’m going to be looking at another hotel for our next stop in Rouen
2 night stop over with children 6 & 7 years old. Staff were helpful and welcoming, children received a little arrival gift. Plenty to do with tennis, swimming, table tennis, and other games, equipment was easily available by reception and kept the children amused. Nice restaurant with a variety of dishes. 15 minute drive to Rouen.
Lovely room, service and breakfast. A little surprised to see a small charge onto my account for either the complementary water in the room or complementary children’s gift. I was led to believe that both were but credit card statement says different! So careful of hidden charges!!
Toilet would not clear. Room not serviced during stay. Restaurant expensive and poor menu choice. Nice design hotel but dated and tired.

The Breakfast was extortionate and Hotel dated. However, lovely staff.
We booked this 4 star hotel in Expedia’s web page but it is even not two star. Extremely old and unpleasant hotel in the middle of nowhere.
It needs urgent refurbishment. Carpets are extremely dirty and filthy. Double bed is very small, WC are dirty with yellow marks, WC is separate but there is no basin inside, so you still need to use bathroom to clean your hands. My child had a filthy blanket with no duve cover.
Although rooms were in terrible state, hotel manager and reception lady was very kind and nice people, they were helpful to us to cancel the rest of the stay with them.

We arrived at 5pm (midday check in) and the room wasn’t ready. No cot for baby and when we asked about the pull out bed for our other child the reply was ‘you can pull that out’.
Meal was expensive for what it was and not to the same standard and Novotel Le Mans. We had a long wait for the food (although the table next to us waited for more than 90mins so maybe we were lucky!!!).
During the evening there was s lot of noise.
The breakfast was really terrible-16.5 euros per person!!!! I cannot believe Novotel Le Mans and Novotel Rouen are the same company! Really disappointing.
When checking out we learned that the hotel had allowed other guests to charge their evening meal to our room number! Unbelievable, especially when leaving the restaurant my wife had tried to pay but was told not to by the staff, it would just go on to the room. We were also charged for using our room phone, although we didn’t?! This took a lot of time to sort out and was very disappointing.
Would never recommend this hotel, and am thinking that Novotel is a hit or miss company as it’s clear standards are not consitant in every hotel. What a shame.
