Not what I'd expect from Hilton

Posted 26-Feb-2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything - they should have started by telling us how to operate the heating upon arrival so we wouldn't be so caught off guard.
Location: Location not great . not near anything. We were there for a tennis tournament and needed a place to stay for the night.
On an onvernight away, and found this with an OK price - Distance was more than what I needed. Long way - but that was my bad. I should have chosen something closer. Figured Hilton would be good. Got there to find we needed to pay for parking. And then when we got in we found that the entire front was under construction. The interior entrance and was in disarray, Very difficult time just trying to figure out where the registration desk was. I mentioned that there was no mention in the ad that it was under construction - she said no of course not we want to sell rooms. I thought the parking would have been comped - but she said no. charged us $10+ for over night parking - no choice we had to park and there was no where else to park. When we finally figured out how to find our room the there was no light at the front door to light our way?! We had to use our phones to light our way to the other end of the room - of which one of the lamps had no light bulb - finally figured that out and we were dead tired so collapsed. Middle of night the heating wouldn't turn off - nor would the air conditioning turn on - we awoke swealtering - we went to the thermostat and couldn't figure it out - no buttons really wouldn't respond... 2 am not seeing well. Now either die of heat exhaustion brought back out my phone to light up directions next to heating element which said i needed to put my key card into the slot at by the front door to operate the air conditioning or heating?!

Just not impressed

Posted 22-Feb-2016 on Hotels
The hotel is supposed to be going through a remodel but my husband and I are DIYer's and can do a better job. The bathtub was supposed to be resurfaced and a big piece was peeling. There is no reason for paid parking in the area. Just not impressed.

My stay was good

I was at a car show at the Cal Expo. It was close to the hotel that was great. Restaurants were great, Plenty of room for my car trailer to park.

Motel 6 would've been better

Posted 13-Feb-2016 on Hotels
Upon arrival the hotel was under major reconstruction(EXTREMELY LOUD, dusty, workers everywhere, bars and restaurants closed,) none of this was relayed when I called to confirm, the room I booked online was a double room with a pull out sofa and jacuzzi with champagne and flowers to be waiting, our room was all wrong, motel 6 I believe has better rooms than what we were stuck with, no valentines romance package I paid for was available but only notified once I was told I would be stuck with that room or refunded in a few days and could stay elsewhere. They charged so much on my card that when checking into a new room I didn't have enough room on the card until 3 days later which was embarrassing and customer service was not accommodating whatsoever, still missing my 100 for incidental refund

Wait until construction is over

Posted 12-Feb-2016 on Hotels
Would not have stayed here if I had known there was a major renovation in progress. There was no discount for having to put up with the inconvenience. They have the nerve to charge extra for parking. While I understand that is common in urban areas, this hotel is in the middle of a business district.

Great hotel to stay in Sacramento area.

Posted 11-Feb-2016
Pros: I like the people and the entire staff of this hotel. The location is also close to a mall and other eateries which are only less than 3 miles.
Cons: The hotel is currently undergoing renovations so the place should look even better when it's done.
Location: There is a mall and a movie theater close by and restaurants to dine in as well.
Everything was great during our stay at the hotel. From the receptionist greeting us when we arrived, the staff in the restaurant and room service and our departure were all done exceptionally well!

close to Cal Expo, expected more from Hilton

Posted 09-Feb-2016 on Hotels
we stayed there for our daughter's volleyball tournament at the Cal Expo. The location was perfect, however the rooms could use some upgrade. It smelled like it once was a smoking room which made it impossible to sleep without an open window, that in tern made it very noisy. New carpets and repainting the walls might be necessary. Bathroom a bit small. Paying for parking with the already high price that did not match the hotel standard a bit too much
