Saaldorf-Surheim is situated in the heart of the idyllic pre-Alpine Rupertiwinkel region in the north of the Berchtesgadener Land. Our region is characterised by rolling hills and lakes, historic village centers, and the harmonious overall picture of an unspoiled landscape. Day-trippers and hikers will find a wide variety of trails. From a hike through the moss-covered trails to a panoramic loop trail with a stop for refreshments or a refreshing dip in Abtsdorfer Lake, Saaldorf-Surheim has plenty to offer. And all of this against the magnificent backdrop of the Berchtesgaden Alps, which are just a short distance away for experienced mountaineers. The expansive municipal area, with its many long, excellently maintained bike paths, is ideal for biking and inline skating. The signposted bike paths, which are connected to the district’s entire network of bike paths, serve as excellent starting points for longer, cross-regional tours. Due to the gentle gradients, the bike tours are particularly suitable for families with children. The cultural metropolis of Salzburg is located in the immediate vicinity, as are Königssee and Chiemsee.
