"Enjoyed our stay at the Mercure very central to Brighton town centre. But hallways in the hotel could benefit with updating and a deep clean. There were places in the room that needed more attention to cleanliness like behind bathroom door, corner of room where tv was situated needed attention. The balcony could benefit from a jet clean. The staff were very friendly and polite. "

"View from the room was outstanding! Definitely worth visiting the hotel for this. Big comfy bed also. Location great on the seafront. Could hear noise from outside / other guests, but personally this didn't bother me. Hotel in general is tired around the edges, could do with a spruce up especially for the price you pay. Disappointing dinner in the restaurant - much better on offer in Brighton, would venture out. "

"The apts are in need to a face lift! Tired and very tatty exterior. Mai. Hotel as ok as I remember it, and leisure club good as ever. There was also no heating apart from a wheelie radiator which I took into bedroom. There’s also no salad or pasta bowls, which is a little inconvenient. But I could see the sea out of my window so go 2 day it worked "

"A Fantastic Stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole Just back from an outstanding two‑night stay at the Brighton Metropole from Friday to Sunday, and I can honestly say it exceeded our expectations. Brighton was blessed with glorious sunshine all weekend, which made our stay even better — but the hotel itself was the real highlight. A special thank‑you to Kostas (Guest Services – DTHBM) for arranging Room 307 for us. The room was excellent: spacious, comfortable, and complete with a balcony offering stunning sea views across Brighton beach. Waking up to that view was unforgettable. The manager and wider team were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. The pool facilities were great, perfect for relaxing, and the Met Bar had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere — ideal for casual drinks and dining. Service there was super friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed spending time there. A big shout‑out as well to the reception team, especially Erik and (I believe) Ellie, for their warm service and, of course, the free warm cookies — a small touch that makes a big difference. The hotel’s location is perfect, offering easy access to Brighton’s attractions, the seafront, and everything the city has to offer. I can absolutely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, and I’m hoping to book another one‑night stay soon, budget permitting. A brilliant experience from start to finish. "

"Every staff member that i dealt with was polite, professional and could not be more helpful. The venue as a whole was very clean and tidy. Only 1 gripe was how limescaled the shower head was. Was so bad.. if u stood under it and turned it on u wouldnt get wet as the water was spraying to the side. I had tk descale it myself "

"I stayed at this hotel many times over the course of a month while working in the area, and it quickly became a comfortable “home away from home”. Each visit was consistently positive and stress-free. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. My room was always tidy on arrival, with everything I needed for a straightforward stay. After long working days, it was a calm and reliable place to return to. The food was also very good—consistently tasty and well prepared. I can’t comment on breakfast as I never had it, so I can’t fairly review that part. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every interaction over the month was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely relaxed. They always made time to help and made the experience feel personal rather than routine. One moment that stuck with me was when I reported a faulty hair dryer. Instead of simply replacing it, the staff member joked and asked if I actually needed one, given that I’ve got very little hair. It was light-hearted and good-natured, and it really reflected the team’s easy-going personality. Overall, the consistency of service made a big difference during a busy work period. I always felt looked after without being over-fussed, and that balance was perfect for me. I’d happily stay here again when working in the area. A comfortable, reliable hotel with genuinely friendly staff who make the stay memorable."
