Convenient to our target destination, the Puy de Dome. Built on a very steep roadway, no convenient place to park to offload/ load baggage. Parking lot across the road in a ravine, difficult to access. Rooms redefined "small". Need to ask for a key for the room safe. Staff were hospitable and eager to please. Bedding was comfortable, sheeting satisfactory, all was very clean. Our room was at the back of the hotel and all was quiet, no street noise. Restaurant food was of sufficient quantity, tasty and at a reasonable price

Friendly hotel with excellent staff.
Spent two nights here.An old spa town with interesting buildings and a good Tourist Office.We went by bus into Clermont Ferrand and had a great day.Excellent bus service.

Nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. We were able to use a garage for our motorcycles while we stayed - very useful and no extra charge! Good location for Royatonic and efficient bus service into Clarmont-Ferrand city centre. The car park and garage are based at the rear of the hotel and accessed via some quite steep steps - not a problem if fit and able - otherwise stop outside the front to drop your bags off! Some rooms have been updated, but all clean and tidy - housestaff attended too each day. Overall a good stay and good location for touring the surrounding area.

Very ordinary place, not much to like
The rooms are old, the walls are thin, the internet cuts out often. The guy on reception is disinterested and unhelpful, nothing much in the vicinity to do. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Second year staying at Le Chatel
Good value medium budget hotel. frequented by French travellers and business people. so food and service good for price. friendly staff. internet did keep dropping out but could have been the weather! very convenient for both city centre and Puy De Dome. restaurant open every night. Thankfully.

Clean friendly family run hotel
Reception was great helped us with our poorly spoken Fŕench. Waiting staff could not do enough to make our meals enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Excellent Value for Money
As a stop over hotel, this was a great find. Our mattress was as good as one in a 5 star hotel, meaning we had a fabulous sleep. The staff were engaging, helpful and attentive - just what was needed after a tricky journey!

Très sympathique
Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits dans cet hôtel simple mais néanmoins très sympathique . Un gros plus pour le restaurant où nous avons très bien dîné et le personnel très accueillant . Les chambres sont sobres mais très propres . La sdb rénovée dernièrement . Je recommande sans hésiter

Hôtel horrible, non conforme à la description sur l'annonce, pas de parking,non accessible aux handicapés, chambre très petite, pas plus grand qu'un cagibi, sombre, pas de volet à la fenêtre donnant sur un tas de terre avec des mauvaises herbes, un rideau défraichi qui ne masquait pas le jour, literie très inconfortable avec un creux dans le matelas,salle de bain minuscule, impossible d'être à deux à l'intérieur, personnel d'accueil très désagréable, une serviette de toilette pour deux, je ne recommande pas, à fuir impérativement.

Bel établissement ancien. Très bien situé à deux pas de Royatonic, des thermes et du Casino. Tout à proximité. Stationnement sur le parking privé ou à défaut de place devant l’hôtel dans la rue. Propre. Petit déjeuner en self service bien achalandé. Nous n’avons pas essayé le restaurant sur place. Accueil sympathique. Seul bémol mauvaise insonorisation des chambres.

séjour d'une nuit mais il me semble que beaucoup de clients étaient en demi pension pour un séjour. Hôtel datant mais très bien rénové. Ascenseur bien pratique avec les valises. Chambre un peu petite mais bien agencée. Douche étroite pour une personne à forte corpulence. Les responsables de l'hôtel sont très aimables et de bon conseil. Restaurant sur place bien pratique. A proximité des sites à visiter. je recommande

Une bonne étape confortable sur la route des puys
Nous avons bénéficié pour deux d'une double chambre. donc beaucoup d'espace. Chambres refaites à neuf, très propres mais sans charme particulier. Excellente literie en 2 mètres. Pas de climatisation mais un ventilateur à disposition. Attention au bruit de la route quand on dort la fenêtre ouverte. Une curiosité: la baignoire n'avait pas de bonde. Excellent accueil et petit déjeuner correct.
