The Bastion Hotel was excellent for the most part. Bed was a little too soft for me but it was ok. The bathroom is extremely small for a man my size. The internet was not very strong and I had often had trouble getting a strong signal while in my room and in the restaurant. The restaurant service was not very good. They rarely came to my table to check on me but the food was pretty good overall.

My instructor didn't stay due to unforeseen last minute problems. We tried to change the booking for five days later and Hotels.com were very helpful but the hotel refused as I hadn't taken out the cancellation option. I had hoped that, as my company often uses the hotel, they would be understanding but they were very short-sighted and were extremely corporative. We were told that we should have booked with them direct and not through Hotels.com. We will be going to Europoort many times in the future but will NEVER use this hotel again. Their loss, not ours!

The bedroom was just adequate but pillow were soft acrylic type. But the big disappointment was the bathroom. Not big enough to accommodate a larger frame (1.89cm height) getting in fully. Sink was very small with a tap the was too large and therefore the floor was constantly wet. The shower cabinet di not have anywhere to put soap/shower gel. Very poor.

Das Zimmer war schmutzig und machte einen ungepflegten Eindruck. Am schlimmsten waren die Handtücher – sie hatten einen sehr starken, unangenehmen Schweißgeruch. Auch die Bettwäsche roch unangenehm, sodass man sich überhaupt nicht wohlfühlen konnte. Insgesamt wirkt das Hotel eher wie eine Unterkunft für Monteure als wie ein Hotel für Urlaubsgäste. Sauberkeit und Hygiene entsprechen meiner Meinung nach nicht den Erwartungen an ein Hotel.

Enttäuschender Aufenthalt – keine Empfehlung Das Hotel ist stark in die Jahre gekommen. Von außen macht es noch einen akzeptablen Eindruck, aber innen zeigt sich schnell der Renovierungsstau. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren zahlreiche Bauarbeiter im Haus, was zu erheblicher Unruhe führte – insbesondere durch lautes Türenknallen zu jeder Tages- und Nachtzeit. Das Personal war leider durchweg unfreundlich, vor allem beim wiederholten Reaktivieren unserer Zimmerkarten, die täglich den Dienst verweigerten. Hier fühlte man sich als Gast eher lästig als willkommen. Die Zimmer selbst sind sehr klein, das Badezimmer winzig – man kann es nur vorwärts betreten und muss rückwärts wieder herausgehen. Der Lüfter im Bad war extrem laut und störend. Das Frühstück war eintönig und jeden Tag identisch – keinerlei Abwechslung oder frische Ideen. Fazit: Für den aufgerufenen Preis definitiv nicht empfehlenswert. Wir werden nicht wiederkommen.
