Fantastic! Amazing location, staff was helpful, with all the amenities one could ask for. A little gem tucked away from the vibrancy of Trastavere, and walkable to all the sights in Rome. Simply wonderful.

Beautiful, unique property; extremely helpful staff; located around the corner from the Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, but tucked away and quiet. Highly recommend!

I had thought this lovely inn was more of a regular hotel with staff available most of the day and a breakfast available. I don't know if things changed after covid. We had given our arrival time which was right at the 2 PM check-in, but when we arrived it was locked up with just a note on the door with a phone number to call. We had been having difficulty with our phones on the trip and could not get through. I finally called Hotels.com 800 number and while they were trying to get in touch with the hotel, someone who occasionally worked there happened by. He told us there should have been an email that went out giving us a code for the outside gate and door, then telling us where we would find an envelope which would have inside it our room number and code for that door. No one was at the hotel until early the next morning for a few hours, the only time period anyone was ever there. The property is very charming with a great location. I went back through all my emails, and I did find it, so it had been sent. However, it was a very stressful 25- 30 minutes and at my age I think I need to start checking more carefully about availability of staff, at least check-in.

Dear Mrs. Pamela Burrel, thank you for your review. As you know, our reception is open for 8 hours every day. When we have arrivals in the afternoon we are around to give assistance to our guests. This in spite the extremely easy instructions for the self-check-in are provided to each of our guests by email many times. The colleague you met when you arrived, was not there by chance, he was there to assist you and that is what he did so we apologise if you had the impression that our welcome was not so accurate. We wish to underline that our guests can take advantage of a very good wifi connection where to contact us H24 for any need even when they are out of the hotel and you were aware of this information too. During your stay, we had the nice opportunity to talk to each other several times and you said you were having a pleasant stay with us and this is very important for us. We thank you again for being our guest and wish you all the best.

BEST PLACE TO STAY IN ROME
This is a HUGE apartment with a washer/dryer in Trastevere! The location cannot be beat. It is really really huge with high ceilings and original beams. so affordable for what it is. Staff is super nice and helpful. it is really amazing

Italian Home Away from Home
I loved staying in the little studio apartment. It was very spacious and cozy and was like a little slice of Italian living. My stay was very short but would have been ideal for a long term stay. The kitchen was nice and well equipped, I was easily able to cook a few meals and save on food expenses. It was located within walking distance to everything, with restaurants and cafes right next door and plenty of markets nearby. I felt very safe and secure with the locked entrances, and it was very quiet, could never hear the street noise even with the windows open. The owner was very nice and gave me a tour, and when someone came to clean while I was sleeping upstairs they were very courteous and quiet and didn’t disturb me at all. The hotel staff were easy to communicate with through email and always answered my questions and helped me figure out how to get my covid test to return home. The drivers who took me to the apartment and back to the airport were great and very friendly. I especially enjoyed riding with Gianluca, he had some great stories and even though he had to pick me up at 4 in the morning he was very pleasant and got me back to the airport very quickly! For my first trip overseas and going solo, I felt very comfortable here and loved my stay. When I visit Rome again I will definitely be booking this apartment again! So much better than just another hotel room, 5 stars all around!!

The Residenza Calisto is very cozy, rustic and well located. I only had one problem, the mattress is very old. Slim and poor quality faith, I really do not understand how they can neglect such an important detaye. Otherwise excellent, I recommend it.

Dear Guest, First of all, let us thank you for your nice words. We are very sorry to hear you did not appreciate our mattress. We would like to underline that we just changed all of them last springtime. We purchased them in a distributor specialized in hotel items and they are in-compliance with the relative regulations being: antiallergic/antidust-mite and fire resistant. They are also anatomic in order to be suitable for the largest part of people. Moreover, in order to make feel comfortable all our guests, we can provide, to those who require a softer top, an extra helpful pad. We are again sorry because we really could make your stay even better than it was if we knew there was this problem on your behalf and we hope to have you as our guest in the future.

Top stay in Rome !
Very nice hotel accomodations! I would definately recommend to stay here. Breakfast buffet was excellent with friendly service. Room was very clean, sheets changed daily. Definately a four star with reasonable rates.

This hotel is gorgeous! Quaint and traditional, with all facilities you need whilst away from home. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. (I would suggest the hotel considers changing the communal door to rooms 2-6 - this woke us up as other guests were leaving!)

Perfectly situated for the sights of Rome
We stayed at the Residenza San Calisto and found it perfect for our needs. It is extremely well situated, within easy reach of many sights, such as the Colosseum and is a lovely spot to wander about. The staff are really helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Everything was very clean with lots of attention to detail. The breakfast was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A great small hotel in the heart of Rome

Wonderful small hotel ((B&B) in Trastevere
Loved the area, the staff, just about everything during our 5 night stay. Only one minor issue—I wish the breakfast menu had varied from day to day instead of being exactly the same each morning.

The stay was great, the personnel is efficient and extremely friendly and most helpful. The room was most comfortable and inviting. The small stain in service was that shampoo could have been re-supplied and that one of the accessories in a bathroom was in not a perfect condition. A little bit surprising was that the fresh orange juice promised in the ad at the breakfast room was not available one would have expected it at the place of such class and level of convenience. Otherwise, everything was beyond any reproach and I would certainly choose the same place for the next short stay.

We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment which was a lovely size and nicely fitted out. Great location close to the restaurants of Travestere and within walking distance (40 minutes or less) of most of the main sites in town. We didn't encounter staff much due to being in a separate building, but they were very helpful when we did. The only thing we'd say is that the kitchen was well fitted out, but would have been perfect with a few more utensils to allow for cooking, such as sharp knives. We were only there for a few days so hadn't planned to make proper meals (too many lovely restaurants), but for a longer stay that would have been appreciated. But overall a great stay and we'd definitely return.

Fantastic!! Lovely breakfaat. Spacious family room with bunk beds. Smooth check in. Tea and coffee in room. Bath. Even better than the photos. Everyone was So friendly. Perfect central location. 25 min stroll to colleseum. 25min stroll in other direction to vatican. Really perfect in every way. A secret gem.

apartment stay
We stayed in the apartment which is in a different area to the hotel but in such a central location to local attractions. The street is a popular area but when you are in the apartment you can’t hear anything. Cristiana was extremely helpful and very accommodating and I would definitely stay here again. It was an impressive historical building and the apartment has been converted to a modern but still some historical features to it.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, check-in and check out were very easy (even though the staff had left for the day when we checked-in). It also helps that it is located in Trastevere which is the best neighborhood in Rome. I would highly recommend!

Not a hotel, but a home.
This was a kind of hotel that gives you the feeling of a home. The attention to details is amazing, its very beautiful, well organized, and clean. The staff are wonderful, everybody helped and smiled. in my future visits to Rome, I will go to this hotel and only this hotel. And one more important thing, the location is amazing, I went everywhere by foot, and it is located in the amazing region called Trastevere.

3 day family trip to Rome.
Really cute boutique (small) hotel. Super friendly staff. Warm comfortable beds (traveled in January). Hot, comfortable showers. Breakfast was an additional charge but a good value.

Lovely place, great location and great staff.
Lovely hotel with lovely staff. It's on a quiet street just blocks from all sorts of night life and restaurants, and a convenient walk or tram ride to the major historical sites, like the Colosseum or Forum. The room is large and spacious with an extra couch in the hallway so one of us could read while the other is in bed. The staff were very nice and helpful. The wifi worked great. The price was reasonable. And the rooms were really nicely done, in an understated way. We'd stay here again in a minute.
