Monti Romantic Sunshine Maisonette

Whisk a loved one away on a romantic break and forget about the world you are leaving behind, enjoying the relaxa and romance with someone special in this cozy, clean nest, that has been completely renewed and personally decorated with tromp l'oeil by the owner. The apartment is very quite and very safe, and it is so central that you can easily walk to the most important sites: Coliseum/Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, Basilica San Clemente, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

This apartment rental is located near the Roman Forum and the Colosseum in the area called "Monti" (just a few meters from the metro station Cavour), ancient neighborhood of the "Suburra " (the name means "area under the city"), mentioned in historical sources, that still today maintains a popular and characteristic flavor.

The apartment is on the second floor of a building of the 19th Century (with elevator and air conditioning) and it is composed of: one bedroom (queen size bed) with a small balcony that looks out on a good sized garden.

With the greenery and freshness of the garden, you would never guess that you are in the historic center of Rome.

The bedroom is separated from the living room by a sliding door. The door has been painted with tromp l'oeil by the owner of the apartment and when opened forms, together with the decoration on the walls of the living room, a unique illusion.

Going down three steps you enter the dining area and corner kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, electric stove and everything needed for preparing your meals). The tiles in the kitchen as well as the dining tabletop have all been hand painted by the owner, another example of the care that has gone into decorating this apartment. The original wooden ceiling tiles have been restored, giving the warmth of wood to the entire environment. The bathroom is decorated with travertine tiles and includes: w.c., bidet, sink and comfortable shower.

This location is perfect to walk to the most important sites like Roman Forum, Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Navona Square and more. Close to the apartment there is the Underground Cavour that can easily take you in few minutes wherever you like.

Adorable property conveniently located near the Colosseum, Trevi fountain and just outside a metro station. Very quiet while inside with the most comfortable bed on our trip so far! Well equipped with basic necessities and a nice touch when we arrive - a bottle of wine awaited!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The property was clean and the bed was very comfortable, especially after a long day of traveling around. I loved the décor and appreciated the Rome travel guides that were provided. The place was close to the train station as well as the Colosseum. Very easy to walk everywhere we needed to from here.

Excellent value and location!

We absolutely loved the location of this apartment! Close to the metro station, hip shops and restaurants, and the Colosseum! The apartment was well-appointed, had windows facing both the street and the courtyard, but is not located on a noisy street. Several great bars, restaurants, and grocery stores are close by in the neighborhood. We had everything we needed to make our trip most enjoyable and would stay there again.

Cozy apartment in a great location

My husband and I spent almost 3 weeks in this charming apartment. It's in a great location! Lots of restaurants, close to the Metro, and you can walk almost everywhere. The apartment is clean and well equipped with anything you might need.The owner greeted us and suggested places to visit. All in all we were pleased with our Rome holiday!

Perfect location for our stay

The apartment was all we could ask for. By comparison to apartments in some cities, Rome apartments generally seem to be on the smaller size, but it was nevertheless comfortable and quiet. The owners were helpful and responsive to any requests before and during our stay and Walter met us on arrival as planned. He gave us a detailed introduction to the apartment and to the area around the apartment. The apartment really is in a great location and we would have no hesitation staying again if we visit in the future.

Great location! Wonderful owners!

We had a wonderful experience at Walter and Natalie’s property. The location could not be better. We experienced a two night delay in London, due to weather. Walter was very understanding and helpful. We were grateful to have such a lovely man greet us. He explained everything thoroughly when we arrived. We highly recommend this property. And plan to return!

Heaven in Rome

My husband and I enjoyed 4 nights in the charming apartment. The location is ideal. From the balcony there is a lovely “secret garden” that we so enjoyed looking down on every day. Bed is comfortable and all our needs were met. Walking distance of many good restaurants and one can stroll to the coliseum in a matter of minutes. Walk to train within 150 feet. We intend to use this same apartment on our return to Rome as it more than satisfied our expectations. Small and intimate, decorated nicely. Definitely recommend.

A great apartment in a great neighborhood

This apartment had everything you would want. It was bright, clean and comfortably furnished. The kitchen had some basics to get you started . We especially appreciated the bottle of wine and olive oil snacks as well as the coffee. The only small drawback was the fact that the apartment was not all on one level. You had to navigate two steps down to enter the kitchen or the bathroom from the bedroom. At night, it felt like an accident waiting to happen. That said I would return here the next time I visit Rome.

Perfect!

I wanted to give my new husband a real Italian experience while in Rome for our Honeymoon. I carefully selected this property from VRBO. From the start the owners responded to my questions and concerns and even set up limo service from the port to the flat and the flat to the airport. Champagne was chilled in the fridge, coffee, creamer, sugar and some tasty treats were there for us. The apartment was special, air conditioned, immaculate, comfortable bed, fantastic location! Bakery near by, restaurants, on same block, shops and access to metro foot steps away! Bathroom was great, large shower, washer machine and products if we needed. Would go back in a minute to same location, owners and their colleague Stefani were pleasures to deal with, respectfully Terry and Jerry Wall United States

Cozy accommodations made the long trip much better

We had a wonderful time staying at the condo. The convenient location to almost everything had us extremely happy we decided to stay here as opposed to elsewhere. There were so many great restaurants and small cafe's nearby to keep us close to home at night after long days of sightseeing. The condo is located extremely close to the subway; however, we found walking was much easier. There was enough storage for each of us to unpack our clothes and we also took advantage of the fridge in the kitchen to keep cold water bottles waiting on us at all times. It was extremely helpful having the owners arrange travel for us both from and back to the airport and additionally were able to have a cab waiting to take us for an early morning tour of the Vatican (picked us up at 5:20 in the morning). Overall, the condo provides a perfect place to stay if you want to be immersed into Italian culture and very close to all Rome has to offer. We would recommend anyone who wants to be close to everything to stay here.

The most perfect rental for a couple in Rome!

We came for a week after a cruise. Natalia arranged transportation for us from Civitavecchia as well as to the airport when we departed. The location is truly as perfect as the other reviews state. Out of the 22 numbered districts in Rome, the Monte district is numbered 1. It's the oldest, hippest and closest to all the main attractions. We bought a 3 day metro pass and did all our sightseeing outside the district within that period. The neighborhood has such an incredible vibe to it day or night, with great restaurants and shops in every direction. The only problem was every third shop seemed to have gelato and I think I hit them all. (All wonderful of course) This has everything you could reasonably want, comfortable bed, air conditioning, kitchen, great shower, and a lift. Having this apartment available is a great reason to return to Rome! Way better than any hotel.

Monti Romantic Sunshine Maisonette

Location is ideal. We had a great stay. Things we loved: How close we were to the Cavour metro station; the quality mattress & pillows; having a washing machine and drying rack; the wonderful sound proof windows; the responsiveness and helpfulness of the staff; the vault-like apartment door and lock. The neighborhood is fun, though definitely flooded with tourists. Kitchen is a little inconvenient for short people. Bathroom is a little inconvenient for normal sized people. Placement of the toilet so close to the wall is awkward. The medicine cabinet sticks out too far compared to the small sink underneath it. The WiFi internet connection was spotty, so I do not recommend this place for business travelers who plan to do work here. For visitors using a laptop to plan activities, the internet connection is tolerable. Wife ran out of hot water twice during late morning showers. I did not encounter this during my short early morning showers.

Our Perfect Honeymoon Retreat!

We booked the Romantic suite for our honeymoon and were blown away by the quality and hospitality. Upon arrival, we were offered to check our luggage while the suite was finalized. I had a to contact the rental agent and owner a few times throughout our stay, and they responded promptly and courteously. We had difficulty with the ac which was most likely caused by previous guests' abuse of the ac unit. The owners went above and beyond their obligations to remedy the issue. Future guests, please respect and abide by the recommended energy use so that we all can appreciate this suite for years to come. The suite is conveniently located near the historic center and public transportation but is off the beaten path so as to offer its guests a quiet retreat from the louder, touristy spots. It is nestled in a quaint neighborhood that is dotted with charming shops and excellent cafes and restaurants with friendly staff. The suite is quiet commodius for a European apartment and offers ample amenities. It is authentically decorated with hand painted murals which further opened the space. We enjoyed cooking meals in the well-appointed kitchen as there were several markets nearby. I must commend the owners for their courteousy and compassion throughout our stay. We also host a short-term rental and appreciate the unique experiences and personal connections you find through VRBO. Oh, but do mind the two steps down from the living room area to the bathroom & to the kitchen at night!

A week exploring!

Great little property centrally located next to just about everything. Great little English pub down the street if you miss home or just wanna grab a soccer match for a bit. Highly recommend vila de monte a fantastic restaurant for a true Roman.

Gutes Appartement für zwei. Trotz Monti und Metrostation ganz ruhig mit Garten vor dem Schlafzimmer. Handtücher knapp. Mitbringen! Müllentsorgung unklar. Taschendiebe in der Metro inzwischen zu jeder Zeit ein Grauen.
