We had a pleasant stay at LOCANDA DEL SOL, Arminio went above and beyond our needs, he was available 24/7 and responded very promptly, safe and gated environment. The checking process was very user friendly.Great location, walking distance to all major points of interest in Rome.

The room was beautiful and clean. The location was good, very near Pantheon, but tucked away from the crowds. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The only slight issue we noticed was a dripping tap and a slow draining shower in our en suite, but those should be easily resolved by the hotel and didn't ruin a very pleasant stay in this beautiful room.

The property is kind of a guest house..the ambience is very homely. You can't see any staff at all..communication were all done in whatsapp but he was very attentive and always on 24 hours a day..we had a cancelled flight in the morning and he understand the situation.

We booked this hotel at the end of a multi week trip in Italy the night before we flew back home. All in all it was a decent room but the completely online autonomous check in process was a bit odd and disconcerting - the communication was responsive and the check in videos helpful. Note it would have been helpful to have a light in the hallway for the upstairs entrance door. Also the button to open the lobby gate was challenging to find.

This is NOT a hotel. This is a house with few rooms. I don’t know why in Expedia it is shown as hotel. I made a mistake of booking this place thinking this was a hotel. There is no reception and staff to whom you can talk. There is no elevator if you have heavy baggage. U will be in a big trouble with heavy baggage and no one will be around to help. There was not hot water consistently available for us. All three days. Room was too small. No place to move around. I needed help to help to book a cab and the host had said previous night he will help. The. On the day we were checking out the host became unreachable. Never answered phone or messages. Bad service. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Dear Guest , We are very sorry to read your review.All reviews on our guesthouse are with positive experiences of guests.You arrive late in the night and we checkin you without problem,Every morning at 7.00 you ask us How to reach the places close to use and we have replied in real time .All the evening when you come back you had some questions and we replied in real time . As we explain in every rooms we explain about city tax payment and you ask at 6.00 in the morning the day of checkout how to pay the city tax . You should ask one day before checkout not the day of checkout We are in the center of Rome and you bought our ECONOMY ROOM , is cheapest room we have in our house , you paid a very low rate but you ask for a 5 stars hotel service . All guests are satisfied about our job because we have 24 hours whatsapp number available more quick and very easy . Hope you will find place to stay like our guesthouse with the same kindly we have reserved for you even when you ask about somethIng we are not obligate to reply and that was not questions about our house Best Regards

Love this place! I only stay for 2 nights but I felt so comfortable. The place was clean and very well organized. I received video instructions on how to get in. Check in and out was sooo easy. Everything is close, literally on the center of Rome. I would definitely recommend this place and if am back to Roma I will be staying at this place again.

Great Location, 2mins from Spanish steps, with all main sites easily within walking distance. Hosts arranged private transfers for us to and from the airport. Room is basic but perfectly fine for sight seeing weekend in Rome.

An excellent location. Great communication from the management for access and check out. They were also very responsive about a minor issue in room. The employee on site was super friendly and very attentive. It was a bit tricky to find but thanks to photos and videos provided we were ok. We hope to be back soon!

Very well placed for central Rome. Room had plenty of space and was clean. Could have done with a chest of drawers. Kitchen facilities were ok, but minimal. Breakfast snacks were not replaced daily and ran out on the last day. Leaving procedure was not described and no one was at hand to advise.

Comfy stay in the middle of tourist zone.
Super comfortable room with sophisticated control of the radiator system that made the room very confirm through the cold nights outside. U won’t feel it’s overheated nor cold to move around. Love it to be super clean too. It’s with a breakfast area u can have simple breakfast like biscuits, tea and coffee, with water boiler and toaster are available. The host won’t be there always but super nice and is ready for enquiry on text most of the time. Love the stay. Just a note it’s like 10mins walk from metro but u have the main road with good pavement to drag the lugguage from Spagna station so it’s not so bad.

We had a great stay. Location is quiet but central, the unit was sparkling clean, very quiet and all new inside. I was able to sleep well and had overall great time. I highly recommend.

This apartment is in an ideal location, although transfer buses won't drop you outside. It is a basic bed and continental breakfast. The rooms are small but nice and clean. Our bedroom was directly off the kitchen so other guests can be heard when using but we didn't have any problems with this. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly when available but limited presence in evenings and weekends. Giorgio was very helpful! There are limited fire evacuation options in this building but this is nothing new for such properties in Rome.

Beautiful room in an excellent location, but the breakfast was disappointing for us. Self service, basic facilities, very slow kettle to boil some water for tea. No fresh bread or meat or cheese, mainly sweet cakes. I would still recommend staying here for the room & location.

Great location. Stayed 3 nights. Would stay again if the bed was softer, but also understand this is personal preference. . :) (I have a memory foam mattress at home and typically sleep in Marriots, just for context for other readers.) The bed was pretty hard, so I slept on a pillow under my torso to soften my sleep experience. The proprietor was very responsive and fixed an issue we had with our code right away and followed it up with a gift for the error.

Excellent overall!
Quite side street close to bank grocery restaurants and a plaza 3 blocks away for shopping and taxi and cafes etc. Very good 3 level security to go in and out. Small room but beautiful decor and remodeling makes it feel good. Very nice attention and help from staff.

Enjoyed our stay, but room for improvement.
Rooms were nice, and location is great. Rooms were relatively clean but a little less so than a usual hotel, but I found that a lot in Europe. Nothing to ruin the room, but I could see it bothering some people. Showers a bit small and cramped, but fine. Service was pretty poor. When checking in during their check-in hours, the staff member didn't communicate anything about how the doors worked (one key for the outside door, another for the gate, card for hotel and room) and didn't say anything about breakfast. Sometimes in the morning, there would be a cornetto or two, but I would not say that this is a bed and breakfast at all. Staff is not there at all times, which was expected but are supposed to be available 24/7. They aren't. Most of the time when calling on the phone, they do not pick up, for all three numbers that we had. So, we never got instructions on how to check out either but made it work. Check-in times are nice and early, which is a big plus. We had to wait for our room in London. I would call in advance and try to let them know when you are coming, and ask for specific instructions on what to do when you arrive. We stood outside for five minutes ringing the bell, and thankfully someone finally came out. +Great Location +Nice Rooms +Only three rooms in whole place, so pretty quiet and not crowded. +Down a less crowded street. -Not really a breakfast -Hard to communicate during off hours

Thanks for your feedback it is very important for us to have your suggestions. each bathroom is equipped with soaps, shower gel, hygienic kit, toothbrushes and slippers. Amenities that are not normally found in a b & b but we want our guests to have maximum comfort. yes, not all rooms are large but we are in a historic building and we have tried to keep the apartment's spirit intact. maybe next time you can try a superior or delux room, very large and spacious ideal for longer stays. Perfect location, perfect service
In my books the innkeeper makes or breaks the visit at a B&B. In this case, Ilaria definitely made our stay wonderful. La Locanda is perfectly situated in the historic centre of Rome. Don't expect to bring a car here though as it is inside of the ZTL vehicle restricted area. The inn is situated on the second floor. It's a cute little apartment turned B&B. Coming and going is completely automated with touch key cards. The kitchen is beautiful as well, always open and available to make a nespresso and have a "dolce". Ilaria, thank you so much for making our stay in Roma "ottimo".

Great little Hotel close to sites
Locanda Del Sol is in a great location near the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Colosseum, and the Forum. We did not rent a car and could easily walk to each of these sites. The owners are very friendly and the room was much nicer than we expected. The only thing that we were not expecting was that breakfast consisted of a croissant and coffee, or in our case a glass of milk. I guess that is normal in Rome. Just don't expect a buffet of waffles, sausage, and yogurt. We have a great time and would gladly stay there again if we make it back to Rome.

Beautiful B&B with a very convenient location. Everything you want to see in Rome is within easy walking distance. The actual location is in an old family home that has been completely renovated with all the modern conveniences you'd expect. The owners are very accommodating and were happy to set up all of our required airport transfers. Highly recommended!!
