The apartment is beautifully decorated with antiques and vintage furnishings. We especially enjoyed the terrace where we could relax with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. It was away from the city center which we appreciated and found an outstanding local restaurant that we returned to twice. There is now an elevator which is great for being on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the tram was not operating while we were there due to construction on the rails but we fared ok with taxis. Cinzia was a wonderful host, checking in with us regularly and answering all our questions before and during our trip.

A wonderful Stay at the Flower Penthouse!
The Flower Penthouse was lovely! Spacious and bright, with beautiful furniture and artwork, including some incredible tapestries. It had a warm and welcoming ambiance. The steps were not an issue at all--they were marble, wide and shallow, and presented no challenge at all, even at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
Cinzia met us at the apartment upon our arrival, and provided us with information about local businesses and transportation options. She was available to assist in any way, if necessary.
The #8 tram stopped just a 1/2 block away, ran every few minutes, and had us in the middle of Rome within 15-20 minutes. There were options for multi-day tickets which we purchased at the tabachi shop right around the corner. We also used a nearby bus to travel to the Vatican. Very convenient!
We spent much of our time walking throughout the center of Rome, visiting the beautiful piazzas and churches, and marveling at the incredible historical sites; however, we typically ate dinner either in Trastevere (only a few stops away on the tram) or at La Gianicolense, just two blocks from the apartment. We also visited the open air market across from the tram stop to purchase some delicious meats, cheeses, and bread. Tony's Gelateria, also right around the corner, was excellent.
We absolutely loved the terrace! It was surrounded by an array of plants, shrubs, and succulents, which made it quiet and secluded. It was quite refreshing to enjoy a glass of wine out there at the end of the day.
Rome was our last stop in Italy. We had also rented properties in Florence and Lecce. Although those properties were both in the middle of their respective cities, and close to the tourist sights, we appreciated staying at an apartment that was a bit removed from the hubbub. Everything we could want or need was close by. We spent our days in the thick of things in the city, and then retired to the more relaxed pace of a residential neighborhood at the end of the day. We highly recommend the Flower Penthouse!!

Wonderful apartment, conveniently located, wonderful and thoughtful owner
Rome was our final stop on a multi-stage trip. We rented an apartment in Athens. We cruised from Athens to Venice along the Greek and Croatian coasts. We stayed a night in Venice. Finally we spent 3 nights in Rome.
Flower Penthouse was the best of the three experiences by far. Cinzia was the best hostess/owner by far.
PROPERTY
Flower Penthouse is a lovely apartment. It is very nicely furnished and decorated. It is a nicely large apartment. Overall, it was a pleasure to walk in the front door the first time and every time. As with most apartments in Europe, it does not have an elevator. Because our trip was so long, we had more bags than was ideal. I will say though, that it is worth climbing those steps, even with too many bags, to get to Flower Penthouse.
The owner/proprietress provided us with a large bottle of water, a package of coffee, and a selection of teas. It is useful to learn how to use one of those Italian coffee makers (Moka Pots). You can find a 2 minute YouTube video that can teach you.
LOCATION
Flower Penthouse is located on the absolute best Tram line in Rome, Tram #8. It is a 2 minute walk from the building to the Tram station. The Tram runs every 15 minutes (give or take a few). Going into Rome is a no-brainer. You stay on the Tram until it reaches the End-of-the-Line at Piazza Venezia. All you have to do is look for the Tram that says "8 VENEZIA" on the front-top. When you are returning you will have to pay attention though. Look for "8 CASTELLETO", and look at the map above the door, and count stops.
There is a open-air market from 7:30 until about 10:00 every morning (except Sunday). We loved it and bought our daily breakfast needs there. Of course we ate lunch and dinner either downtown or in nearby restaurants every day. There is a small convenience store nearby. There are little bars and caffeterias. The bars are not like U.S. bars. They sell coffee, espresso, milk and juices, and pastries. There is an ATM nearby as well, although it is about a 5 minute walk. Everything else you need is closer.
OWNER/PROPRIETOR
Cinzia is wonderful. She provides a great deal of useful information. The apartment is full of useful brochures and information. My wife and I have rented several properties from HomeAway over the past few years. Cinzia is the most pleasant and helpful hostess/owner we have encountered.
CONCLUSION
Cinzia and Flower Penthouse are awesome!

A perfect location
My husband and I rented the Flower Apartment from mid February 2015 to mid March 2015. The apartment was as advertised on line. The previous reviews helped us in our decision to stay there. We, as others have posted, really enjoyed the convenience of the tram and the fresh daily market across the street. The terrace was also a treat, though it was a bit chilly to use it most days. On the days we did use it, we fully enjoyed it. I bet April would be perfect.
The one point I would emphasis which has already been posted by some others and it's more of a reminder and that is that there is no elevator, so you need to expect to climb about 100 steps, including the landings. Your reward for climbing the steps is the view from the terrace and a well stocked apartment. The building is quiet, the locals at the market and grocery stores were friendly, helpful and patient with our attempts to speak Italian.
Some of our local favorite restaurants were l'osteria di Monteverde, de Cesare (via del Casaletto), trattoria da Claudio (via Raffaele Balestra,32/34/36), Rossovino & Maurizio (via Edoardo Jenner 138/144), Il Giardino and Pistoia.
Renata was available when needed and Roman did a good job of cleaning the apartment. He was punctual and thorough.

Stylish, comfortable, clean--our Monteverde Home!
My wife and I rented the Flower Apartment from October to December of 2014, and we really enjoyed our stay there. Although the apartment is located in Monteverde outside the Centro Storico, the location is excellent-- the apartment is one block away from the #8 tram, a 20-minute ride that takes you through Trastevere to Piazza Venezia whenever you want to go into central Rome. Busses to the Vatican and the Gianicolo are also easy to catch. Also, the apartment is one block away from an excellent outdoor market where you can buy the freshest fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, and breads. A family-owned Sicilian restaurant, Mediterraneo, with great food is nextdoor—we ate there six times! Around the corner is a great gelato shop, Tony’s, which we could never resist. The apartment itself is on the fifth floor with no elevator, but we didn’t mind the climb too much to the comfortable accommodations. The kitchen is fully equipped, although there’s no microwave oven; the heating and air conditioning worked well; and the washing machine, while a little quirky, was soon solved and cleaned our clothes well. The bedroom and living room are roomy and comfortable, but the nicest feature is the plant and flower-decorated terrace, on which we enjoyed many relaxing meals and glasses of wine. We also found ourselves enjoying the tasteful and stylish photos, artworks, and books throughout the apartment. A helpful feature is the desktop computer that has Skype and is useful for finding bus routes and museum information. The owner and her staff were always very helpful, but more than helpful, they were kind, friendly, hospitable, and understanding—people that we came to love then and we miss now. When our last day at the Flower Apartment came, we did not want to leave; it truly felt like home.

I liked everything. Fantastic apartment
Location was excellent. It couldn't be better-we went everywhere. The
apartment was spotlessly clean and fully equipped -and the terrace was
lovely for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. We would definitely stay
at this apartment again if we return to Rome.

A Dream Come True at the Flowers Penthouse!!!!
I could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Rome. The "Flowers Penthouse" is absolutely beautiful and charming. It is extremely accessible to public transportation. It has an amazing Sicilian restaurant right next door and a great bar (cappuccino) next door as well. The terrace is breathtaking!! It does not have an elevator, so if you have mobility issues you may want to take climbing stairs into consideration. Overall I'm very happy I chose to stay here, Cinzia and Renata are the absolute best and I look forward to my next visit to Rome and my stay at the "Flowers Penthouse"

a wonderfull place
The flower appartement is a wonderfull place with a magific terrace to join the italian sun! It is very easy to reach the center with the tram and it's also near to one of the most beautifull and storic parts of Rome : Trastevere.
Near to the house is a fantastic market with the italian fresh food every day.
If you need to relax there is the Villa Pamphili to reach by feet.
So the Flower House is the perfect place to stay for passing your holiday in a typical italian situation!!!
