The best area to stay in Roddan is the Old Town, particularly around the historic Markt square.

The Old Town is the heart of Roddan, characterised by its cobblestone streets and well-preserved medieval architecture. The Markt square is a central point, often bustling with local markets and outdoor cafes. Key landmarks include the impressive Roddan Cathedral and the Old Town Hall, both easily accessible on foot from anywhere in this area. It's a compact and easily navigable district.

Couples will find the Old Town particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The charming streets are superb for leisurely strolls, and there are many intimate restaurants offering local cuisine. You'll be within easy reach of cultural sites like the Roddan Castle and the picturesque riverside promenade, ideal for an evening walk.

For those seeking high-end accommodation with excellent transport links, the area just south of the Old Town, bordering the Roddan River, is a good option. Here, you'll find hotels with modern amenities, often including spas and fine dining.

The best time to visit Roddan is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During late spring, the landscape around Roddan bursts into bloom, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C, great for exploring the Brandenburg region's natural beauty without the heat of mid-summer. This period is particularly good for couples looking for scenic walks along the Havel River or exploring the local vineyards.

Early autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, usually between 10°C and 18°C, and the changing colours of the leaves create a stunning backdrop. This season is great for those who appreciate cooler weather and want to enjoy cultural events or local harvest festivals without the peak summer tourist numbers. Families might find this a good time to visit, as the weather is still suitable for outdoor adventures and there are often fewer queues at popular attractions.

While summer (July and August) is popular for its warm weather, it can also be the busiest and most expensive time to visit.
