Dragonfly Cottage did not disappoint! It’s beautifully decorated, plenty of room for family, well stocked kitchen (we were there for Thanksgiving), and last but not least, the view was spectacular…even on a cloudy day! We will definitely be making a return visit.
This is the second time we have stayed here. Our friends and family come from NC and TN to enjoy the mountains and to do some mountain driving. Great location and beautiful property.
Absolutely stunning location. Easy to get to, close to many oitdoor activities. We went fly fishing. Spent the time making life long memories Thank you!
Didn’t want to leave the house! Used all the decks and outside seating, especially around the fireplace. Well stocked kitchen and well decorated. Absolutely loved our time here!
Wonderful house in absolutely gorgeous lake location. Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the house with its ideal location. Spent a day on a pontoon rented from nearby marina and also enjoyed kayaking with the 2 kayaks provided. Santeetlah is a pristine lake and there are numerous scenic drives nearby (or just relax on the dock).
This is the second time I have stayed at the Dragonfly Cottage and each time the experience has been top notch. Alan and Carol were very accommodating and responsive, the cottage is well-equipped -- very clean and comfortable. We stayed with 3 other couples and everyone commented how enjoyable this trip was. We certainly hope to be back.
Last minute change of plans made for a great weekend!
Beach or mountain lake? So glad we chose the stunningly beautiful Lake Santeetlah! Superb lake views from all over the home, well thought out home design, appointed with high quality appliances, furniture, and amenities without being fussy; very comfortable. We would absolutely stay at Dragonfly Cottage again!
Great experience. Awesome cabin with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains on the otherside. Well stocked with amenities. Has access to a pier/dock.
Fireplace with wood provided. Host was very helpful. wasvery
We found this place to be really beautiful in its layout, comfort, decor and stunning views! Every need was attended too from kitchen utensils and appliances to ample supplies of toilet paper and paper towels. I am used to bringing my own! I do feel it could have been a tad cleaner for this price but other than that this place met and exceeded all our hopes for a wonderful fall retreat.
My wife and I have stayed at several lake houses in Western Carolina and found this to be our favorite. The house is very pretty inside and out with fantastic views of the lake especially from the living room and dining room on the main floor where we spent most of our time. There are only 3 steps from the parking area to the front door which made it easy for my wife who has mobility issues. Although there is a road between the house and the lake it is barely visible and we noticed not even a single car per day go down the road. It was surprising how few people were staying in the neighborhood during the week.
Cabin was very nice and beautiful location and views. Problems are there is no place for full trash bags and you have to take to a dump 3 miles away. All of the air vents were closed upon arrival. The oven bake does not work, only broil works. The downstairs guest bath had some issues with the toilet. And to top it all off the owner would not text back. But overall it was nice, just too expensive for dealing with those issues. I would most likely stay again.
This was our second stay at the dragonfly Lodge. We were there exactly one year ago, riding all the country roads and looking at the beautiful mountains and leaves and the lake. We really enjoy staying at the dragonfly, it has all the things that we would be looking for and we felt at home. Carol and Alan did a great job with their house.
LOVE Dragonfly Cottage. It’s our 2nd time staying there with family, but first time in the summer. The lake was delightful, surprisingly not much boat traffic, & grandkids loved jumping off the dock. Hoping to return again next summer!

This property is beautiful and perfectly located on the lake with easy walking access to the marina. We spent a full week here and enjoyed every. moment whether we were hanging on the dock, exploring the lake by boat and paddle board, or exploring the local hiking trails and whitewater rafting. Highly recommend lake Santeelah and this property!
