This West Bay resort is centrally located on a gorgeous stretch of beach. The restaurant on site has daily food and drink specials. The included breakfast was good. (Choice of ham and cheese omlette, two eggs with your choice of meat, fruit bowl, pancakes or traditional Honduran breakfast). Coffee, tea and juice included. We had room 4 which is one of the cottages behind the dive shop. It was clean and had two comfy queen size beds. The bathroom is small but fine. Lack of Water pressure in the shower was the only slight complaint but we managed. You can vaugely hear the clanging of the dive tanks starting around 7 am but it wasn’t too bad. The room had a cute porch with two chairs and a hammock. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. And a huge jug (20 Litres at least!) of bottled water. The beach in front of the resort has the boats coming and going. Ample beach chairs for guests. Beach towels are provided. The dive shop was great. I dove with them 5 times! Amazing team.

The location and value can't be beat. People from other hotels come to this location for the food, fun, and great drink specials. Our room needed a reno and the AC wasn't the coldest, but we weren't in our room much so it wasn't that important to us. We will be back!

We had a great time during our week vacation at Bananarama. The staff was really helpful if we needed transportation to our excursions. The complementary breakfast is outstanding at the Thirsty Turtle and they have a great pizza too. It’s mainly a place for scuba divers, but not exclusively. We were there just to relax enjoy the beautiful water, beach, sunsets, and snorkeling.

The staff were all very friendly. The driver picked our group up from the airport and was right on time! Loved that the front desk was very easy to make arrangements with to get drivers to take us shopping and answered all questions we had. The property is older, so needs some work done to the villas, but overall the beds were comfortable and clean. They didn't ever mop the floors when cleaning and one day didn't switch out the towels, but overall I give the cleaning a 3 stars. I would stay here again, as it was quiet, easy access to the beach, and the security kept people from bothering you about buying things.

This is my second time coming to Bananarama. I like the clean, safe property. The staff is amazing. The most beautiful beach is in front of the resort. Water taxi is close by to go to West End. I will be back on my next visit.

We had a great stay there. The people were amazing and very helpful. The rooms are rustic but comfortable and have everything you need. There is no TV in the rooms but who needs it with the ocean views. They had great dinning and drink specials. Don’t miss the crab races on Sundays.

My wife and I, we had a good time at Bananarama resort, but we had to adapt the first 2 days to the conditions, like water, no TV, no radio and the overall, camp style cabana. I think the resort should inform tourists of what to expect around the area. For example, we brought clothes for 8 days which we never wrote. We expended the all 8 days with swimming pants. Also, the should advice the tourist specially girls shoes with hill. As well as other conditions that we are not used to. Beside that all was great, nice beach, good people great drinks and food. I will comeback.

The resort is ok but needs to be updated specially the rooms also service on the beach was horrible I request service on the beach area to order food and drinks but they said they didn’t have no server and had to get my staff on my own but they did have server for the people the was on the other side on where they allow people not staying at the resort but was purchasing alcohol and food server was not friendly breakfast was not the good flies around the food told them several times about only having hot water in the shower no cold water never repaired, no TV in the rooms very dissatisfied for my first time.

Property is kind of run down and a dirty, rooms are not cleaned properly and need a serious facelift, bathroom towels are clearly over used , old (ripped) and dirty. Bedding sheets are old and discolored , Bed bugs for sure , ants in room. Breakfast is really bad, service is very slow. A shame and waste for such an amazing location. Not worth the paid price.

We can assure you that maintenance and upkeep are ongoing to maintain the resort to our regular high standard. One large point we would like to address is that there are no bed bugs in the resort, all of our mattresses are newly purchased (within a year) and are checked and cleaned regularly. These may sometimes be confused with sand flies, a tiny insect found on our beaches in Roatan. With all that said we will be taking your review seriously and addressing any and all points possible to improve all future guest experiences. Thank you for staying with us and we hope you consider returning in the future to experience the regular amazing side of the resort so many others love.

This was our first trip to Roatan and staying at this property. The shuttle drivers were excellent and very nice. The resort however was tired and run down with many fixes needed. The water pressure in our unit was a 1 out of 10. We thought it was because of being an upper unit but we spoke with someone in the lower unit and they had the same issues. The staff were all very nice but the service in the bar/restaurant was horrible. It took over and hour to get a couple of pizzas and during the week drinks were very slow. We ventured out to other resorts for food and found the service was much better. They take care of the beach, there was a day that brought in a lot of seaweed and it was cleaned up immediately.

Our third trip to Bananarama. Service has become very slow at thirsty turtle, it took almost 30 minutes to get a drink at the bar. We were two couples and at times food would arrive at the table 15 minutes apart even though we ordered the same thing at the same time. They also have increased pricing for food and drinks, you can eat and drink for less at nearby restaurants or bars. Rooms are dirty, shower is filthy, our safe didn't work, Now the upside they work hard to keep the beach clean. It never gets old sitting on the beach

We stayed at Bananarama for our first visit to Roatan and would definitely go back without hesitation. They picked us up from the airport and stopped at the local market so we could grab a few groceries for our condo. Staff was amazing…friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Our condo was clean and stocked, situated close to the beach of beautiful West Bay. The restaurants on site were very good and we noticed many others from other areas and resorts coming to eat there as well. Breakfast is included, which was convenient as well. Dive shop and snorkeling gear on site with easy access to other excursions also. We were so well taken care of and can’t wait to return!

We recently stayed at Bananarama Hotel, a quaint property with only 23 rooms. We were assigned a stand-alone unit, which included a bed, a fridge, and a bathroom; however, we found it lacking in many aspects. The room had no chest of drawers or closet for hanging clothes, except for two shelves with hangers awkwardly placed on the upper shelf. As divers, we understand and appreciate rustic accommodations, but this was quite over the top. Although, we should note, the Dive Master's were excellent at their jobs, but we did find the dive sites somewhat lacking. The sink in our room was cracked, although it still held water, and the shower had been recaulked numerous times, indicating some maintenance issues. Additionally, the towel bars showed signs of corrosion, which is often expected in a resort close to the ocean. The walls were painted in an odd teal color, further adding to the lackluster ambiance. Surprisingly, the best aspect of the room was the ceiling fan, which seemed out of place amidst everything else. One major inconvenience we faced was the hanging shelf attached to the shower head, which had no back and constantly items would fall to the floor. On a positive note, the room did come with a complimentary breakfast; however, we were disappointed to find that the same four meal options were served every day without any variety. The onsite restaurant had daily specials, and we decided to try most of them. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was hit or miss.

Unfortunately, someone broke into our room safe and robbed us of several hundreds of dollars. We reported it right away and the property investigated it to only report the housekeeper went into the room. Afterwards, we didn't receive housekeeping for the trip and felt as if we had done something wrong by some of the staff for reporting this kind of event. With mistrust of security at the Bananarama Dive & Beach Resort, it was hard to carry all our valuables for every activity at a beachside resort.

We enjoyed our stay. My 2 teenage sons and my husband and I spent 4 nights. We took advantage of the food and drink specials and ate pretty cheap. Amazing beach right out front. Booked 2 trips that started at Bananarama. Rooms cleaned well each day. Staff friendly and helpful.

Our stay was positively perfect...from the friendly staff to the hut and our course the beach location. Grabbed my snorkel and swam out the magnificent coral reefs. This will be my number 1 place to stay.
