Enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife as you sit on the front porch and take in the peaceful nature all around. Spend time just relaxing or jump into the many activities near by including hiking, fishing, snow skiing and tubbing, antique shopping, golfing, ATV riding and zip lines, vineyards, Watauga Lake, Grandfather Mountain, rafting, exploring the caverns, Bristol races, area festivals, and much more. We are just minutes from Roan Mountain State park and the Appalachian Trail that offer many hikes and beautiful views. We are also close proximity to Banner Elk, Boone, Bristol, Johnson City and many other exciting locations with lots to do and see. Our cottage sleeps 4 comfortably with a queen bed in one bedroom and a full bed in the second bedroom. The family room is the perfect place to gather and relax while watching our smart TV, playing games, or working on a puzzle. Phone and TV are through Wi-Fi only and work off of a satellite. The Kitchen is fully equipped, or if you would rather grill, we have a gas grill right outside on the porch. For dessert feel free to cozy up by the firepit and make some yummy smores while enjoying late night chats or even some fire side songs. Neat, clean, well appointed. We loved the privacy and quietness of the property. It was very relaxing after a day of riding our motorcycles in the mountains. That brings me to my only complaint. I would've given a five star review, but that driveway. It was too narrow and the combination of gravel and grass made it hard to get up. The fact that it was raining when we arrived made it that much worse and slippery. Overall, we loved our stay and i highly recommend this property. We were greeted on arrival by a goodie basket and smores gear, left by our hosts; they also left goodies for our Golden Retriever, Boomer, and a personalized note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Wow! The cottage & surrounding property are magnificent & everything you could possibly desire for a secluded getaway. From the moment we (me & pup) drove up the private gravel driveway, I knew it was exactly what I wanted for my 30 day stay while working remotely. Quiet, peaceful, serene with no neighbors in sight other than the wild turkeys & visiting deer which you could watch from the front porch. The cottage is decorated simply in good taste with attention to details, furnished comfortably and equipped with full kitchen amenities which was perfect for my every day cooking and became "my home away from home." This place is treated like a home, not a rental. Comfy mattress, lovely electric fireplace adding to the mountain vibe, perfect sized TV for the space, plenty of hot water, central A/C & heat kept us comfortable at all times. My pup loved roaming around the property and our daily walks even up/down the driveway scrunching fall leaves by the creek became an adventure. I could go on and on... needless to say LOVED every single minute of our stay and felt a twang of sadness as we prepared to leave just a couple days ago. Kim & Art are wonderful hosts, just a text/call away, attentive to every need, treated us more like friends than visitors and provided excellent resources for discovering NE TN. It only 1 mile from a main road but you had to listen close to ever hear any traffic go by it was great.
