Excellent customer service. The room was comfy, cool, and spacious. Awesome rooftop pool with bar. The breakfast was large with a variety of cold and hot options, pastries, fruit, and fresh juices. Right off the beach with included beach chairs and umbrella. Highly recommend!

Location location location!! And the breakfast buffet!! 10/10 all around was soooo happy with this hotel! I can’t wait to be back. I’m Brazilian but live in the U.S. and this was my first time visiting Rio and I not only fell in love with the city this hotel made it for a fabulous 5 days there! (Trip was 30 days long and this was the splurge because I stayed with family) my kids loved the plunge pool before the beach and they had such sweet touches including the baby towel and linen in the crib. Lots of little details we loved. We stocked up on water and snacks at the market two blocks away. Lots of great food right there. We’ll be back!!

I would not call that a pool; more like for kids. An adult can’t even do a lap. The gym is also basic with insufficient equipment. Breakfast is also boring, same thing every morning with no variety. That said, every other thing is very good; location, room (1502), proximity to beach, restaurants, shopping.

The hotel was well run and very clean, as clean as a beach hotel can be with the sand being track into the place. If you have a beach view it’s great , the windows even open.The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Cesar at the front desk stood out as he was full of positive energy. Helping with all the details, or just having a conversation. I will return.

The checking process was long and painful. They first made copies of our passports, then asked us to connect to the internet and fill out a long online application, which again requested our passport numbers, dates of birth, race, reasons for entering the country, addresses, cell phone numbers, emails, and other personal details. Much of this information was unnecessary for a hotel check‑in and was collected online, which violated our privacy. Other hotels we stayed at in Rio de Janeiro had a smooth and quick check‑in process without any online applications.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sol Ipanema. Prime location, the staff were fantastic as well - very attentive to details. The seafood restaurant inside the hotel was amazing, Matt our server was great.
