To our surprise, on checking in we were given an upgrade to a junior suite at the Hotel Metropol. This is an exceptional property, very clean, beautiful architecture, unique setting and very friendly, helpful staff.

Excellent location in the heart of Taormina. Parking is very challenging in Taormina, so we ended up paying 40 euro per day for valet parking by hotel staff. It was expensive, but very convenient.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (116 reviews)
This was a cute little room that opened right onto the street. It was extremely clean and comfortable, but be warned: the bedroom is up a flight of stairs that seems to be common in Italy, but is certainly not up to code in the United States. If you have Vision deficits, this is not the place for you. I stay downstairs so that I wouldn’t fall down the stairs in the middle of the night. The staff is lovely and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Everything was very nice. The only difficulty is the stairs and that is just a part of the Italian experience.

8/10 Very good! (360 reviews)
"This was a unique property out in the country, as part of a thoroughbred horse racing track. You could watch racing from your room. The property was clean but is generally getting tired and needs refreshing. The lobby area is noisy and that cascades down the halls and to the rooms. The pool areas ..."
