The interior of the villa is traditionally decorated with accents of stone and wood throughout, providing a charming and cozy atmosphere. The villa features three bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to six guests in beds. Renting a car during your holiday is not necessary, as you can find everything you need within walking distance from the villa. Additionally, you can enjoy various forms of entertainment, such as bars, cafes, and restaurants in the Platanias area, which is only a 5-minute drive from the villa. Rethymno center is also easily accessible, just a 10-minute drive away. Layout: Ground Floor: The ground floor of Villa Kali comprises an open-air area that includes the living room and kitchen. The living room is equipped with a 32” TV with Netflix, two comfortable sofas, a Bluetooth speaker, and a fireplace. Large glass doors in the living room provide access to the pool area and the outdoor dining space. There is also a spacious fully equipped kitchen with a kitchen dining table. One of the three bedrooms is located on the ground floor. This air-conditioned bedroom features two single beds (0.90 x 2.00), air conditioning, a closet, TV, and direct access to the pool area. Furthermore, a bathroom with a bathtub and a washing machine is available on this level. First Floor: Wooden stairs lead you to the other two charming bedrooms of the villa, which feature vaulted wooden ceilings. One bedroom contains a double bed (1.40 x 2.00), air conditioning, a closet, and a TV. The Platanias area, where you can find all kinds of entertainment like bars, cafes, nightclubs, and beach bars, is less than 5 minutes away by car or bus. The hospitable owners have a wide knowledge of the island and will be on hand with helpful advice and information whenever it is needed. The rooms are spacious and stay cool during the day (there is a/c as well in each room), it was spotlessly clean and well furnished. There are shops and restaurants nearby and the owner was incredibly helpful with suggestions of places to go and things to see. And was able to suggest a driver when we wanted to visit Knossos Palace (and didn't want the expense of hiring a car). It is a short bus ride to Rethymno and we did that a couple of times during our stay, well worth a visit. But locally there are plenty of places within a 2/5 minute walk to eat and drink/shop. The beach is also just over the road. There is a good sized supermarket about a 15min walk away (or short bus ride) but most of the local shops sell the basic food items too. We would absolutely recommend Villa Kali, it was a wonderful place to stay. There were a couple of basic items missing from the kitchen scissors, toaster, shallow baking tray, but these were not a huge problem. We also think it would be helpful to have supplies of the toilet bin bags in the villa as this is not something we would normally expect to go and buy.
