The kids loved the pool. You are surrounded by olive trees and there's plenty of shade when it's too hot. The houses are separated from each other by the trees so quite private. "July 2012- I have just arrived back with my wife and 2 daughters aged 7 and 4 from Villa Estia. From the moment we arrived Nicos and Maria made us feel very welcome. The villa and grounds were immaculately clean. We were greeted with a lovely traditional Cretan meal which was a real surprise and treat. This allowed us to relax, unpack and settle into our holiday surroundings. Our children enjoyed the use of the pool which we often had to ourselves. We also enjoyed a lovely evening BBQ cooked by Nicos and Maria. The villa is very well located to local beaches and Rethymnon town which is only 10 kms away. We would highly recommend this villa if you are after a peaceful relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings." Nobody could possibly be anything but delighted with the villa, the property, and the hospitality of the wonderful hosts!! The pictures online do not do the place justice at all - it is totally modern, well-lit, and VERY spacious. We rented a villa for one week as a family (two adults, one grown-up child) and were absolutely thrilled. We have travelled extensively and are very particular, but this accommodation is SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, gorgeous, and very convenient. ALL the appliances, etc. work perfectly (the shower leaves a flood, but this is common all over Greece), the pool is always immaculate, the beds are terrifically comfortable, and there is tons of closet space provided. The kitchen is well-stocked with pans, etc. and you can do proper cooking if you wish. The AC also works perfectly and there are units in every room. Even though we were there in mid-summer, there is a lovely breeze and we never had to use the AC overnight. Da wir ( Familie mit Kind) an einem Samstag Abend anreisten, hatte die Familie uns ein tolles Abendessen gekocht & uns für das erste Frühstück auch gleich ausgestattet. Zum Geburtstag unserer Tochter hing eine kleine Überraschung an der Tür, so wurde der Tag durch diese nette Aufmerksamkeit gleich ein bisschen versüßt! Danke nochmal! Die Anlage ist schön, sehr gepflegt, die 3 Häuser sehen alle hübsch aus. Unser Haus war super sauber, wir haben nichts vermisst, höchstens einen „ Ausschaltknopf“ für die Zirkaden. ;-) Eine kleine Katze besuchte uns regelmäßig auf der Terasse, der täglich Sprung in den Pool tat natürlich sehr gut...Kreta hat uns sehr gefallen, wir werden sicher irgendwann wiederkommen & können diese Unterkunft wirklich nur empfehlen! ##### Miriam J. Damit haben wir alles richtig gemacht. Schon bei der Ankuft haben wir gemerkt wie gastfreundlich Elia und ihre Eltern sind. In dieser Form haben wir das noch nie erlebt. Es ist nicht selbstverständlich, dass man mit Essen empfangen wird....für diese Familie schon! Elia und ihre Eltern kümmern sich liebevoll um das Grundstück und ihre Gäste. Jede Anfrage wurde umgehend beantwortet. Man merkt wirklich wie sehr der Familie das Wohl ihrer Gäste am Herzen liegt. We were welcomed with tasty food. All was very clean and well equipped. The owners came every day to check the pool or do some work, very friendly and discreet. Several times we got samples of the traditional cuisine. We were allowed to take from the fruit trees in the garden. Almost every morning we had breakfast at the veranda. You can choose which one on each side of the house. Having sun during the meal or for drying clothes or relaxing. A rural location which is a good basis for trips in the districts Rethimno and parts of Chania and Heraclion. There is plenty to see and do or you only ride on small ways through the mountains and along the coasts. We enjoyed it very much. ##### Dietrich S. Hier wird die vielbeschriebene griechische Gastfreundlichkeit gelebt; freundlich, zuvorkommend, immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht und ab und zu steht eine selbstgemachte Köstlichkeit von Maria auf der Terrasse. Die Villa Estia ist schön, modern und mit Stil eingerichtet. Die Lage ist traumhaft. Inmitten von Oliven-, Zitronen- und Orangenbäumen steht diese neben zwei anderen Villen auf einem 8.000 m² Grundstück mit einem ca. 5 m x 10 m großen Swimmingpool. Es stehen vier Terrassen, für jedes Zimmer und jede Himmelsrichtung eine, zur Verfügung. Das ganze Haus ist auch technisch mit Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine, Klimaanlagen und Whirlpool sehr gut eingerichtet und das Grundstück wird sehr liebevoll gepflegt und ist mit Liebe zum Detail angelegt. Das Grundstück liegt ruhig am Ende des Dorfes Pagkalochori und ist für Ausflüge mit dem Auto in alle Richtungen gut gelegen. Zum Strand sind es 3 km und zu den wichtigsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Bäcker, Supermarkt in Platanes) sind es mit dem Auto ca. 10 min. Ca. 1 h fährt man nach Chania und zum Flughafen in Iraklion, je ca. 1,5 km sind es nach Matala, Plakias und Chora Sfakion und zur Lasithi-Hochebene ca. 2 h. Elia et sa maman Maria sont d'une gentillesse incroyable et toujours disponibles. Maria nous avaient même préparé le repas pour notre arrivée, repas crétois d'ailleurs excellent. La maison, au milieu des oliviers, est grande, confortable et d'une grande propreté. Quant à la piscine, géniale: vous nagez au milieu des oliviers et n'avez comme bruit que celui des grillons et des oiseaux! Le rêve! La villa et le jardin sont encore plus beaux que sur les photos ! La villa est très confortable et très bien entretenue. Le jardin est magnifique avec ses oliviers centenaires, ses citronniers, figuiers... Il faut aussi imaginer les odeurs et le chant des cigales ! Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et accueillants ! La présence de 2 autres villas sur le même site n'est pas du tout gênante. Il n'y a pas de vis-à-vis. Il y a juste la piscine à partager pour la plus grande joie des enfants qui se font des copains ! La location est située à quelques km de Rethymnon, dans 1 petit village. Tout était parfait: maison très propre,mobilier de qualité, terrasse très agréable, piscine et jardin entretenus quotidiennement, cadre idyllique (oliviers centenaires, orangers, rosiers, plantes aromatiques...). La villa est à la fois au calme et proche de la mer et des endroits touristiques. Mais surtout, nous avons plus qu'apprécié l'accueil et la gentillesse de Elia, Maria et Nikos, leurs nombreuses attentions tout au Long de notre séjour (repas à notre arrivée, fruits, légumes, œufs, olives...). Elia, merci pour ta gentillesse et tous les conseils avant notre départ et sur place. Maria (la maman) prépare certainement les meilleures feuilles de vigne de l'île. La maison est très bien équipée, pratique et entourée d'oliviers, de rosiers, plantes aromatiques...toujours avec un petit vent qui rafraichit après une journée de ballade. Mention spécial pour les plages paradisiaques situées à Elafonissi. Possibilité de passer une journée à Santorin au départ de Rethymno, c'est grandiose (2 départs dans la semaine. Attention le Mégajet qui fait la traversée se remplit très vite). Comme une semaine c'est trop court... on reviendra. ##### Florence J. Mais avant tout, des propriétaires accueillants (à notre arrivée, des dolmadès, des oeufs et des fruits nous attendaient), discrets mais présents! Elia et ses parents sont très gentils et prévenants. La maison n'est pas très loin de toutes les commodités et de Rethymon mais elle est au calme dans un petit village au milieu des oliviers et nous avons bien profité de la piscine Non seulement je recommande cette location mais j'espère même y revenir. ##### DELICATOT This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### Bruno G. 29 May 2014 #### Tout simplement magnifique Tout d'abord, très bonne correspondance avec les propriétaires, parlant Français, sur tous les points relatifs au séjour. La location est idéalement située, dans un village très calme à 2 km des plages, dans ce que l'on pourrait appeler un parc, tellement le magnifique jardin comprenant de très beaux oliviers, arbres fruitiers et autres fleurs est immense et très bien entretenu, ajouter à cela une belle piscine, la cerise sur le gâteau. La maison est très spacieuse, lumineuse, entourée de terrasse ou balcon pour la cuisine, le salon et chacune des 2 chambres. La vue sur les oliviers, et au loin la montagne, est superbe. Il y a tout le confort, lave linge, lave vaisselle, grand réfrigérateur /congélateur, fer et table à repasser etc, de très grandes armoires dans les chambres, une très bonne literie, ainsi qu'une pompe à chaleur réversible. Nous avons apprécié la très grande propreté des lieux, l'accueil très chaleureux d'Elia, Maria et Nick, les propriétaires, d'une extrême gentillesse, qui ont été formidables, tout au long de notre séjour. Il est conseillé de louer une voiture pour y accéder et visiter cette belle île pour découvrir de somptueuses vues panoramiques, de la mer ou de la montagne, et apprécier les petites routes de campagnes où se trouvent de magnifiques monastères ou églises, des tavernes souvent tenus par des familles toujours très accueillantes et servant des plats typiques à des prix très abordables. C'est d'ailleurs dans ces multiples tavernes que l'on pourra se connecter au wifi afin de communiquer gratuitement par mail avec notre famille et amis. La visite de la vieille ville de Réthymnon et Xania est indispensable, avec ses petits commerces dans des rues bordées de maison très colorés et surtout très fleuries, ses restaurants et terrasses bordant le port, où nous sommes un peu sollicités par les propriétaires mais jamais harcelés, et toujours avec le sourire. Je recommande donc déjà vivement cette endroit à mes amis pour se ressourcer et profiter d'un temps majoritairement chaud et ensoleillé. Bruno, Laurence et Manon ##### Bruno G. A 15 mn de la vieille ville de Rethymnon, nous avons apprécié le calme du site, la grande terrasse couverte qui est une vraie pièce supplémentaire pour les repas et les jeux et la localisation pratique pour découvrir le sud et l'ouest de l’île. L'endroit est généralement sous une brise très agréable et nos 3 semaines en août n'ont pas souffert de la chaleur de l'été dans la maison et le jardin. La villa est très propre, bien équipée en électroménager, la literie est très bonne et la climatisation dans toutes les pièces peut être utile (nous l'avons pourtant peu utilisée); dans tous les cas, on y dort très bien ! Le site comporte 3 villas autour de la piscine, et les propriétaires organisent des barbecues pour tous les résidents : ce sont des moments très sympathiques en anglais, français, grecs, etc... Nous recommandons très vivement cette location et nous sommes certains de revenir ! Notamment pour découvrir la Crète au printemps, et avoir le plaisir de retrouver la famille Koutelidakis ! ##### catherine b. ---
