Antigoni is a very friendly, helpful host who kindly made us a lovely moussaka. The villa is clean and comfortable. Plenty of sun beds, great views and nice pool. Every bedroom is en-suite. The pool was slightly smaller than expected but was great for the children to play about it and for adults to cool off and swim a few strokes. No Taverna in the village, but a good choice in Margarites 10K away - also plenty of ceramic shops and workshops in this town to buy gifts etc. The Museum and acheological dig at Eleftherna should be open soon and is a good place for walks etc. Beaches are acessible by car - about 45 minutes. Only drawback is two bedrooms are acessible only through another bedroom so privacy a bit compromised - OK for a gang of kids or singles. Not this time! I cannot imagine a more perfect break for me and my family to celebrate a special occasion. We arrived in the village to our hostess waiting, after clear communications. The villa had plenty of room for the 10 of us, the location rural and quiet. Car hire is essential, food and attractions are a bit far for foot travel. The hostess was amazing, attentive and responsive to our needs - even arranging a cake for our celebration. George and his taverna are just a short stroll away with some amazing refreshments and a history lesson if you like that! I will be back to this wonderful establishment. ##### Simon W. Antigoni and her husband took good care of us, meeting us and guiding us to the property as we arrived very late on a delayed flight, also extending Cretan hospitality in the form of a lovely home cooked meal on one evening. They advised on local tavernas and shopping. Eleftherna is situated on the site of extensive Minoian excavations and within easy reach ( by car) of beaches and other historical sites of interest. The nearby villiages of Margarites is the island's ceramic centre and provides an array of handcrafted ceramics to buy. The younger members of the party enjoyed the water park outside Heraklion on one day. The only drawback to the property is that two of the bedrooms are accessed through another bedroom so privacy can be compromised! ##### Margaret H. Der er et stort fællesrum med køkken. Udsigten er smuk og kan nydes fra poolen eller terrassen. Ejeren Antigoni kommer flere gange i løbet af opholdet og er enormt hjælpsom. We had a great time in Villa Antigoni. The owner took care of our groceries for the arrival day. We also got fresh eggs from their chickens and deliciously sweet tomatoes from their own garden. The owner came every night to pick up the garbage and ask if we needed anything else. We also got delicious moussaka from the owner. Never eaten such a tasty moussaka. The villa looked exactly like the pictures. Every 3 days the villa was cleaned and we were given clean beds and towels. We were there with 6 adults and 4 children (3-7 yrs.) and we have been in the pool every day. We, our children and grandchildren have been in the villa for 12 nights. Ok, let me start by saying, that the villa is just wonderful. great rooms, great pool, great view! Our family (9 adults and 2 kids) spent 10 wonderful days! The owner (Ms. Antigoni) and Etouri did everything they could to help us! They organized beach visits, helped with the rental car and the chef service, Ms. Antigoni came by everyday and asked if we needed anything and emptied the trashcans. She even made us some homemade Mousaka (which was one of the best we ever had) It was just perfect! I travelled a lot in my life but the service we had in Villa Antigoni was one of the best! All in all, it was sooo uncomplicated. Thanks to Whatsapp we could ask questions and get information almost around the clock. We came almost around midnight and were positively surprised that the owner wanted to meet us in the house and show us around. The house is actually 4 separate apartments with own exit to the common terrace. Making it possible to give each family the privacy but still enjoying each others company. The space outside overlooking the pool was excellent, with sunbeds and sun umbrellas. We were brothers/sisters travelling together with our family in total 11 persons. 2 families with children who enjoyed the 2 larger apartments with 2 floors and 2 bathrooms in each. The owner Antigoni and her husband was very kind and made sure we had an excellent stay in the villa. They came by everyday to make sure we had everything we needed and also served us an excellent moussaka during one of our days. The company Etouri, also gave us the possibility to enjoy one day at Baja beach club with complimentary sunbed and wine, with beach and pool areas in Rethymnon. We enjoyed the place very much. Aan praktisch elke wens kan worden voldaan. Zo vroegen wij een verjaardagstaart te bezorgen en binnen een paar uur werd een prachtige taart met kaarsjes bezorgd door mevr. Antigoni. Ook heeft ze ons een heerlijke ovenschotel bezorgd! Aan de rand van een klein dorpje met een eetcafé en tal van archeologische vindplaatsen rondom, verbonden door duidelijke wandelpaden. We were enthusiastic to rent this villa because of the kindness with which they answered to us, but we were even more delighted at the end of vacation. Mrs Antigoni is a very nice person. She welcomed our requests with great kindness and availability. As good Italians we could not do without coffee; when we asked her where to buy a machine able to do it (the villa is situated in the mountains, sorrounded by tiny villages still engaged in traditional activities, you must make a few km to find the grocery store and / or specific retailers), she answered that she would have give it to us the following day. We thought she had one or knew someone who was using it, instead she brought to us a new machine, including refills and 9 new coffee cups. Another time she made us prepare from her mother the typical "moussaka", making us eat one of the best Greek typical food. We were utterly surprised and apreciated it. She is a decent person, but attentive to guest's needs too. I certainly have a very good memory of the past week there... In fact, if I ever will go back to Crete I won't hesitate to contact her to book the villa again (which with its position, however, is perfect to explore of the sorrounding area by car)!! ##### Alessia S. Everything is new and comfortabel, rooms are big, every room has a bath room - a big group (or some families and friends) finds everything what is needed and more. Because the house is located in a small mountain village it is just no "crazy party location". The taverns around the place were all very good and typical. Small supermarkets are in the next villages. It is really worth to go the way up to the mountains, the atmosphere and the view from there is something particular, we enjoyed it very much! The terrace overlooking the pool is well equipped with umbrellas , garden tables and chairs. The owners are lovely, very attentive and full of attentions . La grande pièce commune, où nous nous retrouvions pour manger le soir, avec sa cuisine aménagée et son salon, était très conviviale. La terrasse qui domine la piscine est bien aménagée avec parasols, tables et fauteuils de jardin. Les propriétaires sont adorables, très prévenants et pleins d'attentions. The modern villa is located in a very quite area, ideal if you want to get away from the bustle of the city. On request, a baby cot was provided for each of the babies. The building is in a good condition, the kitchen has all the necessary utensils for a self catering holiday. A complete Cretan meal was cooked for us, local seasonal produce was provided. There are no baths, just showers, but in hot weather this is no problem. Two top floor bedrooms are only accessible via two ground floor bedrooms.
