We had a wonderful stay here. The host was extremely kind, attentive, and very helpful throughout our visit. Everything was well organized, and communication was easy and smooth. We really appreciated the hospitality and the little details that made us feel welcome and comfortable. This isn’t a hotel and is not manned 24/7 so it would be good to phone ahead of your arrival. Despite this, it is an excellent property which is located in a quiet street just off the main thoroughfare and close to the major sights, and promenade. The bedroom and amenities (the TV has a full Sky package) is better quality than the vast majority of similarly priced hotels, whilst the bathroom, especially the shower, exceeds most hotels of any standard I’ve stayed in. Etoiles is a great place to re-set, beautifully furnished, set in tranquil surroundings. The heated pool is a big plus especially in the spring time and there is also a beach short walk away. The property has secure private parking. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. It is a perfect base to explore Calabria.

I had a very pleasant stay at the Casa Ferrari. Valeria and Mario, the owners of Casa Ferrari, were highly welcoming as was Giovanni who works at Casa Ferrari. They all made a great effort to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable and were very hospitable indeed. My room was very comfortable with delightful views from the balcony towards the sea. Casa Ferrai is situated in the historic town of Gerace which is steeped in history and full of historic buildings of interest.

My husband and I stayed for four nights at the beginning of May 2011 and were very impressed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were luxurious and spacious.Breakfast was typical Calabrian home baking and very plentiful.The owners were very helpful, giving directions for sightseeing and travel around the area. Very central location, 50m from Corso Garibaldi, Lido train station less than 5min walk away and within walking distance to the port. It looks that a ground floor apartment has been freshly renovated and modernised, split into 3 units, of which this room is one. Common entrance has some kitchen facilities. Room itself modern, well equipped and very clean. Safe is built into the wall, which is a rare find! Room fairly dark though and outside shades are quite difficult to handle. Communication...

The staff were friendly and helpful and were able to recommend at least two very good and reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. It was particularly valued by me that I was free to brew myself proper English tea at any time, and there was an expresso coffee machine in the bedroom. There is also a good laundry almost next door which had my clothes ready within 24hours. There was decent craft beer (and other drinks) at a fair price, and not too cold, in the fridge in the bedroom....
