BIG4 Yarra Valley Park Lane Holiday Park

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful glamping experience at a reasonable price and were very satisfied. We would definitely love to come back again, and we’ve already recommended it to our close friends!"

The Warby

10/10 Excellent

"Extremely happy with our stay at The Warby. We stayed for just one night to attend a wedding in Warburton and this motel was absolutely perfect for our needs. Central location; instructions extremely clear to collect keys (as unstaffed on weekends); comfortable beds and bedding. The room and bathroom was a little on the older side (structurally), however was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended motel!"

Fully renovated 1940s cottage in Warburton

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean and enormously charming cottage. It’s spacious and well suited to a large family or group of friends, with sleeping space for six. The beautiful garden, lovely views and many places to sit both inside and out make it easy to relax. The kitchen is also very well equipped. The only thing that could be slightly improved is the listing information. A clearer description of the bedroom arrangements (two queen beds and two bunk beds) would be useful, as would more practical details about parking and access (including approximate walking distances in metres: from Young Road, it’s steep with a longer walk down; from Donna Buang Road, it’s steep with a shorter walk up). The host was very helpful and responsive, though, so we were able to find out everything we needed. It’s a perfect place for a relaxing stay in the Warburton area, and I’d strongly consider staying there again."

Stunning Country Property within easy reach of Melbourne

10/10 Excellent

"We booked for a family holiday, we really enjoyed just staying in and relaxing at the property. There is some much room in the living area plenty of chairs and table and couches especially loved the sun room for relaxing reading and playing games. The natural pool was stunning and we loved the task of prepping the wood fires spa and enjoy a cold dip before a warm sit. We took a few walks around the property on the tracks down to the natural springs, and had our dog with us who loved having a run and hanging in the pool area. The kids loved using the theatre room and Brendan even set up some frisbee golf for us to play. The views are absolutely incredible having all kinds of weather for our stay was nice being in the clouds and mist and having the sun to lounge about in either inside or on the pool deck. The kitchen is set up with a cooking plate, oven style air fryer and microwave and a 3 door fridge under the bench. We all really enjoyed our stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Reefton?

The best area to stay in Reefton is within the main township itself, particularly along Broadway, Reefton's primary street.

This central area is the heart of Reefton, offering convenient access to local amenities and attractions. Broadway is lined with historic buildings, including the iconic Reefton Clock Tower and the former School of Mines. You'll find a selection of local shops, cafes, and eateries within easy walking distance. The town is compact and easily navigable on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate staying in the main township. It provides a comfortable base for exploring the town's heritage and natural beauty. You can enjoy strolls along the Inangahua River Walkway, which is easily accessible from Broadway, or visit the Reefton Distilling Co. for a local experience, all without needing to drive.

For travellers interested in the region's history and gold mining past, staying close to the Reefton Visitor Centre on Broadway is ideal.

When is the best time to go to Reefton?

The best time to visit Reefton is during the warmer months, specifically from late spring to early autumn (November to April), when the weather is most conducive to outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the region.

During these months, the weather is generally pleasant with warmer temperatures and less rainfall, making it ideal for hiking, gold panning, and enjoying the natural surroundings. Days are longer, allowing for more time to explore and experience everything Reefton has to offer. This period is particularly good for families looking to enjoy the outdoors without the chill of winter.

For those interested in fishing or white-water rafting, the peak season in summer (December to February) offers the best conditions. The rivers are at their fullest, and the warmer temperatures make water-based activities more enjoyable.
