10/10 Excellent

"The room was clean and tidy. I didn’t eat the breakfast but the buffet was adequate and you could order in the restaurant. The carpets were very dark and shows dirt easily, although they cleaned daily. I suggest another carport with a nice pattern be installed in the hallways."

B&B HOTEL ROUEN Centre

8/10 Good

"The hotel is in the less historic part of town on the other side of the River Sienne, not very pretty and quite commercial, lots of fast food outlets and a thriving African community, some lively bars and pubs playing some great Afrobeat. The hotel looks over a huge shopping centre, however it’s also next to a large and very beautiful cathedral on the square, ask for a room on the top floor with a view of the church, spectacular as the sun was setting. The hotel is pretty basic but it is what it is, a bit tatty around the edges, could do with a few repairs, chipped and scuffed wood, lick of paint etc. But the main thing was that it was clean, the bed was big and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful and most importantly, it was cheap!"

Ibis Rouen Centre Rive Gauche Mermoz

8/10 Good

"We liked the location and the secure parking. You can easily walk to the historic centre of Rouen. The room was quite warm but fortunately the window could be opened. The downside to this is that we faced the street, so it was a bit noisy. I would nonetheless recommend this hotel as the positives outweighed that one drawback. The staff were lovely."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Rebets?

The best area to stay in Rebets is within the village itself or in one of the nearby hamlets like Le Mesnil-Renard or La Croix-Roger, as these offer the most authentic experience of the Normandy countryside.

Rebets is a small, traditional village, centred around its church and a few local amenities. It's characterised by its rolling green hills, apple orchards, and traditional Norman architecture. Staying here provides a quiet base for exploring the wider region, with easy access to local walking and cycling routes.

For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying directly in Rebets or a close hamlet offers privacy and a chance to enjoy the serene rural setting. Many accommodations here are renovated farmhouses or gîtes, providing a comfortable and private stay. It's an ideal spot for leisurely drives through the countryside, visiting local markets, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Families will also find these areas suitable, particularly if they are looking for a base that allows children to experience rural life. Many properties come with gardens and outdoor spaces, superb for relaxation after a day of exploring.

When is the best time to go to Rebets?

The best time to visit Rebets is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is generally warm and pleasant, great for exploring the Normandy countryside.

This period offers the most consistent good weather, with longer daylight hours and less chance of rain. It's ideal for outdoor activities like walking tours, exploring local markets, and visiting historical sites without the chill of autumn or winter. Families will find these months particularly suitable as the milder temperatures make it more comfortable for children to enjoy outdoor excursions to nearby attractions such as the Château de Gisors or the Animalia Parc.

For couples seeking a romantic getaway, early autumn in September can also be delightful. The summer crowds begin to thin, and the landscapes start to show hints of autumnal colour, making for picturesque drives and a more tranquil experience.
