The pristine view of the land and the sea was magic. The peacefulness of being down the mountain from Ravello was so worth the stairs. No crowds, the car noise far away down the mountain, the terraced orchards and birds, all so good.
The sunrises were amazing and evenings on the terrace for dinner were so sweet. The place was very clean and the staff were wonderful. The accommodations are simple, but comfortable. The included breakfast foods were a nice benefit that allowed us to start our days in the quiet with the sea.
Having a kitchen allowed us to shop and cook at home much of the time, so our meals out were special. We often walked up the stairs to Ravello, with many pauses to catch our breath, to walk the town, shop and enjoy a meal. We were not in amazing shape when we got to the Amalfi Coast, but we chose to really accept the challenge to walking and getting stronger. It was so good for us.
Walking down to Minori from Torello (1000 steps downhill) which is just a ways up the road from the lodging, was another lovely day trip. We would then take the ferry to Amalfi, then the bus back up to Ravello, and walk down the 600 or so steps back to our lively peaceful apartment.
There is a little local mini bus that will take you from the street near the lodging up to Ravello and back down, that conveniently runs every hour. So if stairs aren’t really your thing, there are good affordable options. But we mostly chose walking.
We would absolutely stay here again.
