"We had the absolute BEST time here in September! It was so charming, clean, comfortable, and the staff were incredible. The restaurant (breakfast 2x and dinner one night) were delicious with fresh options, and the sauna was perfect after a long day of exploring and being outside. Would absolutely stay here again!"

This is a unique and lovely hotel in a remote part of the south of Iceland. The rooms have a cabin-feel and there are outdoor hot tubs. Great for exploring the south coast and being rural enough to give you a good chance of seeing the northern lights. Good breakfast where you can help yourself to the buffet and/or order off the menu (only 3 items though - omelettes, fry-up or porridge). Would have been nice to have scrambled egg as an option or pancakes. Breakfast is served 7-10am and usually...

Really great hotel, perfect spot to see the Aurora. A little out of the way and not close to any restaurants but that’s what makes it a good spot for the Aurora because of a lack of light pollution. The hotel restaurant is good.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently being renovated (restaurant is closed so breakfast is in another hotel 10 minutes walk away) and my room felt like it had been rushed. The bathroom ceiling wasn't finished properly (grout missing from around the tiles and badly painted), there wasn't a night stand next to the bed, had two single duvets instead of one double. Just little things that they should do better for £200+ per night.

Combining wilderness and luxury, you couldn’t feel cosier inside the small hotel with views ready to strike wonder at every turn.
Part industrial hipster warehouse with cement, part luxurious soft furnished grandeur, part nordic chic, you can firmly sink into comfort while the wilderness sweeps over you with breathtaking power.
Drink matcha ginger green smoothies and a hot breakfast whilst a blizzard sends storms of snow barrelling past the ten foot glass around you, or the sun rises on the...

Really cute place. Lovely room. Clean, good shower, great heating. Comfy beds. Great breakfast: eggs, bacon, beans, toast, yogurt, sweet waffles. We had dinner one night, the salmon was delicious. Beef pasta was dry and lukewarm but, to be honest, we were happy to have dinner there rather than driving elsewhere. Friendly staff. Reception is not always manned but they tell you their hours and unless you have pressing issues/questions it’s fine. Overall great place.

We were so pleased we chose Hotel Grimsborgir for our stay. It is in a beautiful location, easy to get to lots of different places of interest and the scenery is amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was so comfortable and warm. The hot tub was a lovely addition.

Good size comfortable apartment with everything we needed at a good price. The bed was really cosy and comfortable and we made good use of the hot tub, though you do need to give the owners a couple of hours notice before hand. You won't want to get out again with this cold weather!
Location is about 15 minutes drive from the town of Selfoss and a good central point for the golden circle area. Owners we're really friendly and helpful.

Our travels to Vik was disrupted by extreme weathers and road closures. We had to book accommodation last minute. We booked Hotel Fljotshlid and was not disappointed, amazing location, great staff! The rooms were clean and warm. We even managed to see the Northern lights from our bedroom!
Incredible experience.

From the moment we arrived, until the minute we left, we were treated as valued guests. The hotel is based on a working horse farm offering a variety of rides and the horse theme is carried throughout the hotel, with rooms named after horses and even horse shoes for curtain tie backs which is a lovely touch.

Room was amazing. Probably the best room I’ve stayed in on my holiday and I’ve stayed in a few. Very clean place, comfy bed and loved the sheets, shower was lush, good hairdryer available, extremely spacious with a sitting area and big TV, helpful staff, plenty of room for parking and a great, quiet breakfast with plenty of options. Only downside for me was they had everything but a kettle yet supplied teabags with a picture of a kettle on the back of the packet. Of course not a big deal but...
