This is a lovely boutique hotel, very close to town. The staff has the best customer service, and the breakfast is amazing!! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel
Where to start !!! This place was just WOW from the moment we arrived. The staff were nothing short of amazing. The view , the room , the hot tub, the service all 5 stars . My only problem was our stay wasn’t long enough. A very big thanks to The Carlin for our wonderful stay
The Princess Suite was beautiful! The view of the lake and mountains from the balcony was breathtaking. The private hot tub and outdoor fireplace were amazing. The complimentary breakfast was delicious as well as the complimentary happy hour drinks. My husband and I loved staying here to end our honeymoon!
The Carlin is indeed a 5 star property in every way, the staff and accommodation exceeded all our expectations, and we will most definitely return for a longer stay. I would recommend this truly remarkable boutique hotel to anyone traveling to Queenstown NZ.
Amazing service & Richard went above & beyond with an early checkin & late checkout not a problem. We highly recommend staying while in beautiful Queenstown.
The staff really help makes the place stand out like no other, as the addmenities speak for themselves.
From the moment we entered the driveway, to our check out 2-days later, the attention we received was exceptional. Next level!!
The concierge stood out making us feel welcomed from the get-go and no ask of ours ever feeling to big, during our stay.
We highly, highly recommend a stay here.
Amazing trip. Hotel Carlin perfectly placed for wonderful views over lake and short walk into Queenstown. Faultless super clean room with wonderful bed and great shower and amenities.
Very pleasant stay. Couldn’t fault anything. Amenities very clean & high class. Staff were impeccable. Free parking and free airport transfer. Absorbing the stunning views from your private jacuzzi on a spacious entertainment deck was an awesome experience. Totally recommend if you can afford it
Fantastic property, great location, Wonderful staff. The only thing I would say is for the price point There are few little things that need to be addressed as for small repairs in the room.
The hotel & all staff were outstanding in every way from the moment we arrived to valet parking, a welcoming drink and an upgrade to a fantastic suite.
The view from our balcony hot tub across Queenstown & the Lake (day & night) was amazing.
The Carlin compared very favourably to other 6 star hotels we have stayed in.
Incredible experience at this property! Everything was flawless! The service was absolutely exceptional. The food was amazing and thoughtfully prepared, every detail of this stay was remarkable. One of the best hotels in my life, incredible views and every detail was considered to make it a memorable experience. The owner and all the staff were so accommodating and kind and welcoming, I can’t say enough amazing things about this property.
The Carlin is well located in easy walking distance to the Queenstown Mall and Lake Wakatipu. The complimentary airport pick-up made my arrival seamless. The rooms are modern with every detail considered. I received a surprise upgrade upon checking in. The cocktail hour and breakfast included in the rate were delicious and added value. I loved relaxing on the terrace with the hot tub and outdoor fireplace and the box of treats left at evening turndown service. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the Carlin the next time I'm in Queenstown.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Was looking forward to staying here, however didn’t have the greatest stay. The balcony with spa and fireplace was excellent, however around ten pm another family opened our door with their key, which was quite startling. The bathroom had average water pressure and looked a bit tired. We were woken up in the middle of the night with the sound of wind coming through the fire door in the bedroom.
The hotel location is very good with an amazing view from the balcony. However the facilities are not at a great level compared with other 5 star hotels.
The exit green lights in the room can’t be turned off at night, which is a joke.
Hotel staff is friendly but it doesn’t worth the money.
Within the rooms there are two emergency exit signs which illuminate the room all night. They do not fit into a 5 star experience and are taccy. Along with this the lights within the bathroom illuminated the bedroom.
This is a stunning boutique experience. Pricey but the suite was sensational. Our only bugbear was the high tech light switches which took some getting used to and the light motion sensors which were erratic.
Otherwise quiet, luxurious, spacious, stunning views and super friendly/professional staff.
