From the Rügischen Bodden, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the island of Vilm. This 1 km² island has been a nature reserve since 1936 and has been part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve since 1990. On the island of Vilm, up to 30 people can take part in guided hikes daily from March through October.
Putbus is the youngest town on the island of Rügen and is only 3 kilometres from Wreechen. Here you’ll find not only the beautiful castle park and the Putbus Circus. Be sure to check out the cultural events as well, such as the festival, the sailing and harbour festival, and the Rügen Cabaret Regatta. These are just a few of the most notable events in Putbus.

Right at the harbour, shipping companies offer sightseeing cruises by boat. Take advantage of this opportunity and explore the island of Rügen from the water. For those who aren’t quite so sea-worthy, a sightseeing trip on the “Rasender Roland” is a great alternative. It takes you through the villages and Baltic Sea resorts all the way to Göhren.
