"An all around great experience. We were there during the rainy season, so while we didn’t see a lot of sun, there was a lot to keep us happy: terrific food, especially the breakfasts, lovely staff, and loads of activities to keep us busy. Really recommend the trip to the waterfalls as well as the sustainability tour around the plantation. A perfect example of how well they take care of their guests was when we had to have our dehumidifier replaced because it wasn’t working. It was done very promptly and to make up for the inconvenience (and it really was hardly an inconvenience at all!) they gave us a voucher for both of us to have a full Balinese massage which was heavenly. Can’t recommend Munduk Moding Plantation enough. "

"This was the most relaxing stay we've ever had. We did read a review that almost derailed our stay there so I'm going to address a few things. 1. The bathrooms are open air. Meaning they have large openings to the outside and you can't close it off. They are fully concrete which is smooth as tile. This was alarming at first and it became one of our favorite parts once we understood the authenticity of the location. 2. Air conditioning is only in the bedrooms. None in living or kitchen area and none in bathrooms. It's very humid in wet season and we spent a lot of time in the bedrooms because of this. 3. Laundry. The listing says laundry but there is not laundry on premises. You have to contact staff and they will come to you to get your laundry and drop it off when finished for a fee. It's VERY inexpensive and worth it for the speedy and kind service. 4. Location. The villa is very remote and there is not a lot of services near by so be certain to bring things you'll need. That being said- this was an amazing stay. The staff catered to EVERY need and delivered every single request to the door. We got massages and facials in the villa. We had our laundry done for us. We rented a scooter and they dropped it off and picked it up. They made us breakfast every morning. We ordered food from local restaurants and it was delivered to us while we were enjoying the pool. We hired the driver for day trips and he handled every single interaction while we were out. "

"This is a stunning property. It is absolutely immaculate both the house and the grounds. The staff were amazing, particularly Iloh. She kept everything so clean, looked after us and our washing and cooked some outstanding meals. Due to length of the staff we were given a free massage. The best massage I have had anywhere in the world! I had one every other day for about 7% of what I would have paid in the UK. This is a unique, stunning property. There was absolutely nothing that didn’t work for us. We loved the open/outdoor living, we loved the open air bathrooms and also the air conditioned bedrooms. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough. There is a great supermarket down the road and wonderful restaurants and warungs around too. It is a perfect place to stay and unwind. "The staff was kind and courteous! Rooms were spacious, but could do with a freshen up, and remove wallpaper as it’s peeling from humidity, so if you are bougie then maybe not your style. The grounds were well kept and the large gazebos facing the water (sit a whole family) were great. The area was quiet and a bit isolated, but had shuttle where you need to go and "

"We had a great stay as a family of 4 (our kids are 6 and 9). What made the stay so special was the two ladies that helped us in the home. They made great breakfasts in the morning and were so helpful. It was a really relaxing and beautiful time. The security and gardener were also very kind! "

"After communicating by whatsapp with someone from Sumberkima Hills Retreat, we knew which villa would be appropriate for us to book. We are in our 70s and have some mobility issues. The villa was easy to access for us and to go to the pools, as well as the restaurants, we could book a shuttle, so we would not have to walk up and down the hills. The problem was that once you were driven there, you were required to walk down, or up many steps. This is just to make people with mobility issues aware of access!! The whole property is truly beautiful and there are amazing views from everywhere you look. From our villa (Asmara 3), we could see the hills and volcanoes in Java, as well as the ocean. At night we witnessed the sunset, and in the morning the sunrise. Taking a taxi down the hills is expensive, so we did not leave the retreat during our 3 night stay."

"Fabulous, we loved being there and everyone was so helpful and accommodating. It’s a beautiful, restful place to stay with everything you need. We had delicious meals prepared for us daily and every request responded to quickly and kindly.I highly recommend this property. It is a shame though that the beach has so much plastic rubbish. This is no reflection on this property, ocean litter is a problem for all of the island. I wish the beaches could be clean. Balinese government needs to act to stop the dumping of rubbish in the sea. "
