Compared to Furneaux Lodge and The Portage, Punga felt VERY dated back to the 70s and 80s and poorly maintained. We had an apartment and could hear every footstep of the people above is. For almost NZ$600 this is not good enough. The room was comfortable and the shower hot and excellent pressure! Their restaurant has been damaged but they let us know that in advance and continued to provide excellent meals at the spacious dock or delivered to the room. We ate at the dock for dinner and breakfast. They also provided a delicious bag lunch on request. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was great and the accomodation was eco-friendly and comfortable. Oh, and the free parking, was a boat on a mooring. Quite steep to travel around but it will get your fitness up.
