"The Fairmont is likely as good of a “Resort” property as one could find. I am not a fan of Resorts, But when in Hawaii it is difficult to not stay in one. Fairmont is well presented, certainly not a value proposition, but nicely done. Good food, Bars, Pool, etc. shower in the bathtub was far better than the separate shower. Facility does need some paint and refreshing. Grounds and Location are beautiful. I like Fairmont Hotels and they are a brand I seek out, when traveling."

"We had a fantastic vacation and the entire family still reminisces often about the wonderful time we enjoyed there together! Everyone had their own comfortable space to retreat to and nobody felt crowded. All the bedrooms and private bathrooms were much appreciated.The four grand-daughters were in paradise in their bunk room. The secret room surprise was a delight.The group areas were spacious for the 13 of us: kitchen functioned quite well with multiple cooks, the pool was awesome and enjoyed continuously, the sand volleyball was fun, the tv and rec-rom space were a great bonus, and much more!Most days we all stayed at the home and didn’t feel the need or want to leave! (However we did do some exploring, hiking, went for scenic drives, trips to beach, whale-watching, coffee farm etc) A few negatives (mice running around inside; hard and uncomfortable dining chairs; a bath-tub drain that wasn’t working/wouldnt hold water; torn curtains on one outdoor shower, looked quite ratty blowing in the wind and visible from the front, etc) were unexpected for a property in this price range, however they were mostly dealt with or at least helpful attempts made to remedy, by owner and/or manager, Thank you Andy, and Alyssa!! Nothing really spoiled the vacation these were just unexpected in this size investment.We still hold and cherish so many memorable and positive moments from this very special family trip! Everyone loved our time there, thank you, thank you again!!"

"Our 1st evening, we had some problems with getting food. The poolside restaurant had to close early and the bar restaurant ran out of pizza. I’m sure it was an unusual problem, but we didn’t have dinner that night coming in from a long travel day from Texas. All other meals were great, especially breakfast buffet which was outstanding."

"The property was beautiful and very spacious. The stores and market were only about 15 minutes away. The only part that was somewhat inconvenient was that in order to access one of the bedrooms, the master bedroom and bathroom needed to be entered. It worked out fine, but we had to coordinate with others in our party. That being said, we would most definitely return! Amazing!"

"A perfect spot to enjoy everything this area has to offer. Walking distance to the beach at Puako and a short hop to several others including Hapuna. The onsite laundry and beach supplies are a huge plus. It’s perfect for a couple or family of 4, it it would be a bit intimate for two adult couples. The kitchen is great and if I stayed again, I’d have had more on hand to cook in the evenings since the dining options in the area are limited. Good options, but just require more driving. This really is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great beaches and snorkeling."

"This is our second time staying on Puako Beach Drive; first time was in a bungalow further down the road, back in 2019. I absolutely loved the area and was excited to return. The cottage feels very Hawaiiana and was exactly as presented in the photos. Loved watching the sunsets from the lanai, exploring the lava rock tide pools during low tide, listening to the ocean waves, and looking for turtles, from a safe distance, of course! A few things to note:The kitchen is well-equipped with pots and pans, appliances, salad spinner, and so on, but no basic pantry items, not even salt or cooking oil.There are gaps between the windows and screens, which makes sense for an older property so close to the ocean, but it does mean there are critters. (I got a lot of mosquito bites; first time for me on the Big Island.)While hanging towels on the clothesline, I saw a mouse, which gave me a fright at first.The cottage was a splurge for us, and we"
