Hiking, Nordic walking, and day-trip destinations: our holiday region is especially well-suited for hikers, those seeking relaxation, and families. Beautiful hiking trails—also suitable for Nordic walking—are available, as well as cycling opportunities on a fairly flat bike path just 3 km away. there are fishing opportunities at Black Rain and Höllensteinsee, as well as canoeing, outdoor pools, nearby indoor pools, and a forest swimming area for nature lovers. We’re happy to go on excursions with our guests. Trips to Bad Kötzting, Cham, Straubing, Bodenmais, Zwiesel, Passau, Regensburg, and the Czech Republic are always worthwhile. There are good shopping opportunities. and sights to see in these places, e.g., glassworks, schnapps distillery, toy museum, forest museum, glass barn, Aegyrian vaults, Großer Arber, the large and small Arbersee lakes, Kaitersberg, Osser, Rachel, Lusen, and the Bavarian Forest National Park. Winter sports: In St. Englmar, Markbuchen, Grün, and the Pröllergebiet, the nearest winter sports destinations, cross-country and alpine skiing are available. The Geißkopf area offers optimal conditions for winter sports. Bodenmais, Silberberg, and the Arber region also attract visitors with winter sports, as does the Hohe Bogen in Lamer Winkel. You can go sledding right here, and curling and ice skating are available at the Schwarzer Regen and Höllensteinsee. The ice rinks in Regen and Deggendorf also offer excellent opportunities for winter sports. Hiking through snow-covered landscapes or a leisurely torchlight hike round out your winter holiday. You might also be interested in a sleigh ride, which can be booked in St. Englmar or Drachselsried. Ice skating is available at the Regen ice rink.

Whitsun Festival with the Whitsun Horse Race (approx. 900 horses) in Bad Kötzting, the Gäubodenfest with an East Bavarian show in Straubing, the Maidult in Passau and Regensburg, the town festival and folk festival in Viechtach, etc. Equally cosy get-togethers or barbecues with your hosts. Traditional Bavarian cuisine leaves nothing to be desired. But you might also like to treat yourself to Italian and Chinese cuisine.
