Best chill out hotel

The view was stellar. Room nice and clean with a great balcony. Parking was easy, ( for Italy that’s a big deal ). Pools very nice and clean. Staff at the pool bar were great. Negatives, they are expensive for food and drinks. One of the pool people, ( lower pool ), was on a power trip. Breakfast was great except that do they don’t know how to make eggs that are edible. Overal, great. Would return.

It was amazing from start to finish. Friendly staff, food (both snack bar and restaurant) was excellent. Their breakfast has an impressive amount of selection. The pool area, on top of having direct access to a free private beach, meant you could have your beach day at home if you didn't feel like having a crowd around you. It certainly lived up to the hype.

We loved our stay at El Faro! The position beside the sea was fabulous with amazing views of the ocean, perfectly private and peaceful. The option of two pools and ocean swimming was fantastic- the perfect holiday destination.The staff were very accommodating and pleasant too- eager to please their guests! Great location with a car for easy access to Alghero- what a fabulous. old town to wander around, dining and shopping, as well as other locations well worth visiting. Highly recommend this hotel.

This is a spectacular hotel with unbelievable views. A top room with a balcony with sea view is a must. The grounds are beautifully appointed with lounge chairs and easy access to the ocean. The pool is beautiful and the breakfast excellent. There are no restaurants in walking distance but the hotel has an excellent restaurant if you do not want to drive the 15 minutes into Alghero.

Fantastic hotel with a beautiful location and great service. The food is really good and the staff are friendly and professional. The views across the bay from the sheltered sunbathing spots and incredibly relaxing. Rooms are a little small and the gym could use an update.

Beautiful Hotel and Setting - Skip the Food
The location is absolutely peaceful and beautiful and the calm water in the bay meant easy paddleboarding and safe swimming. The hotel is also beautiful, and we loved sitting on our balcony watching the sunset. It would have been nice to sit there with tea and coffee in the morning, but unfortunately, there are no beverage facilities in the room. Sadly, the pool is barely heated and there is no hot tub, so we weren't able to get hang out in the pool very much. The real downside was the food. Breakfast was ok, but I wish the scrambled eggs hadn't been half raw. Dinner was medeocre, at best. It really made me wish there were other restaurants within walking distance.

This is a beautiful resort set on the sea. The grounds and rooms are perfect. It is located well for exploring. However, the staff falls short in friendliness. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. There were two self serve coffee makers for the entire area resulting in long lines. The whole buffet was poorly run. Other than that our stay was very pleasant.

Very nice, modern, comfortable hotel. Pristine condition throughout. Good sized bedroom with big balcony. Located about 15 minutes drive from Alghero. 2 smallish swimming pools but several access points to the sea. Parking a little limited but ok. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

(1) Dinner in main restaurant very poor- No edible lobster in Chef’s recommended dish. Worst meal by far during stay of 7 nights in Alghero . (2) Service in restaurant very slow , and poor ( Manager of restaurant unapologetic, and unfriendly at end of meal ; Waiters generally friendly ). No desire to return after very poor experience. (3) Breakfast in Terrace disorganised on two morning out of five - No napkins, cutlery , and suchlike . (4) No tea/coffee- making facilities in bedroom. (5) No greeting at main door, particularly, assistance with heavy luggage. (6) No waiter service in sunbathing areas. (7) Staff courteous and friendly. (8) Room comfortable and clean.

El Faro Hotel and Spa is a well appointed Hotel in an excellent location - 15 minutes to both city centre Alghero and Airport. Great Meals and customer service! Excellent on site snorkelling and very close beaches proximity (no beach at hotel). Neptune’s Cove (worth a visit!) is 15 mins away. I highly recommend staying here.

Picture Postcard Perfect!
We arrived early afternoon and were told that check in is normally at 4pm. The hotel has rooms available the change in which, are well come equipped with towels, shower and toiletries. We changed and used the outdoor/indoor 'heated' pool and enjoyed a delightful lunch on the terrace overlooking a magnificent vista. Our room was ready around 330pm. The allocated room, 404 which is situated at the entrance overlooking the car park was in my opinion dated and not of an acceptable standard. It felt like you were detached from the main hub of the hotel. I pointed out my dissatisfaction and in all fairness the Receptionist quickly offered another room which, was acceptable and in line with my expectations. It was well appointed and impeccably clean. We ate in the main Restaurant on two evenings and the food was well presented. It doesn't come with a any set menu which is great . The A la Carte menu is varied and they also have Fresh Fish that you can choose and have cooked along with a selection of Daily Specials. Breakfast by Sardinian standards is good. It is buffet style with the usual line up of offerings. The main plus point of this hotel is its location. It is picture postcard perfect. If you are looking for an idyllic spot to re-charge then this place has all the attributes..... One note of caution though, make sure you have a car at your disposal as you will need new legs and feet if you are planning to explore the local area.

A fantastic location, very professional staff. Many private outdoor lounging areas with excellent views of bay. Car park facility could be improved with line markings. Buffet breakfast could be organised better.....long queues for coffee/ hot water machines ...... table service would solve the wait...especially as no tea/ coffee making facility in room.

El Faro is based in beautiful location with great views. Alghero is 15 min drive so it not to bad. I would say you need a car or bicycle to commute if you staying in this hotel. If I need to say something negative that would be there is not maybe the best place with the little kids because the hotel is based on beautiful location but on a rocky grounds so you would have to keep an eye on them if you are staying in the hotel by the pool for example, because they could easily fell somewhere or just hurt themselves otherwise it's amazing place to stay. You got amazing views from the breakfast area and the bar area. Great indoor outdoor pool. Parking is limited is basically on first come first serve basis and and a busy time you would have to park somewhere further fri the hotel on the street. Breakfast is ok nothing too special, we had scrambled and boild eggs, some sausage and bacon and Sardinia is very tin more like pancetta style. I think in Sardinia they concentrating and hotels more on sweet table because we had quite generous options of cookies pies and another sweet stuff. Overall it's a great hotel with a beautiful views

We stayed here for 6 days! The hotel, really the whole property, is beautiful and very well maintained! Rooms are very clean spacious and comfortable. With beautiful sea view, very nice to wakeup to! Pool ++and water activities where nice. Canoe rent was fun for the kids. We did not use the spa. Staff was very nice and super. Breakfast was included in our stay with plenty of choice and good quality. Negatives food is slightly overpriced lunch/dinner. No ironing board in room and also not possible to borrow one at the front. Only laundry service available, so a quick iron after a trip isn't possible.
