While it can be tempting to just chill out when vacationing in Porto Santo, keep in mind that Madeira's abundance of scenic wonders await. Machico and Porto da Cruz are two other places you may wish to visit while you're in Madeira.
Organize some transportation and head out to Funchal, a regional center, approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) away from Porto Santo. The city offers a number of visitor attractions, such as Palheiro Gardens, Quinta das Cruzes Museum and Faial Beach. Funchal has lots to offer those willing to spend a little time here.
