Once we arrived in our room it didn’t look like the bathroom was actually cleaned. A hair that was not mine was found in the tub. Also, the next morning before we left to go out and shop we asked the front desk if house keeping could come by and clean and to bring fresh towels and water. A few hours later we arrived back and ABSOLUTELY nothing was done besides leaving new towels but not taking the old ones out nor taking out the trash or even making up the bed. Other than that we enjoyed our stay, we had a romantic dinner at the rooftop restaurant and had fun in the pool.

My room was not vacuumed upon arrival. Non of the appliances (hairdryer, mirror) actually fit the plugs. The restaurant food was poor and overpriced. I was looking forward to some seafood given Portland’s proximity to the ocean but there was only one dish (salmon) on the menu.The rooms are very dark with a poor view. Jason the front clerk was excellent though.

If you park across the street at the city garage, it's very affordable. The Porter has two bars and two restaurants. Also a convenience store. Easy to hang here for a few days and never leave. Really friendly staff and neat architecture and design. Watched March madness and UFC at the bar in between meetings for work. I recommend.

The room had old pizza and drinks from the last people. We requested more towels and they said they would send them and never did. The bathroom had stuff all over the wall by the toilet. Very expensive valet. Definitely not worth the price point. There are much better hotels in downtown for the price.

Our pillows had big yellow stains on it, and our room never got clean, even though we called and asked twice for cleaning and even asking a cleaner, they just never showed up to clean our room. The lounge on 16th floor, asked to keep our credit card during we are there and they said we will give u back after you finish ordering your drinks, but at the end of the night, they said sorry we accidentally gave your card to someone els and they charged our card $206, for all the other person's drinks and food, so I suggest, pay for your drink or food each time you order, don't let them take your card away.

Water was cold upon our morning shower. Hotel and its amenities were great. Would have been nice to park in a garage designated to the hotel guests instead of having to pay $59 to valet before tip for them to park in an enclosed location. I parked a full 24 hours in the public parking garage across the street for only $21. Check out was easy. Not much else to say. 7.5/10

The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. The room we were in had a couple issues. The couch pillows had white stains on it, the restroom shower I could tell wasn’t cleaned properly because there was still hair on the walls. The door to the room wouldn’t lock, the floor in the room had a red stain on it and the wall in the bathroom also did too. Otherwise the area was nice, short distance from the waterfront.

We had an excellent time at the Porter with our family of four with two kids (10 and 13). The room, though small, was clean and comfortable. The beds were nice and the room amenities were in good working order. The pool was fantastic, as were the hot tub, sauna, and gym. The service staff were very friendly. Parking was a bit of a surprise- valet only at $60/day - but if you factor that into the cost of the room, it’s actually kind of nice to have the valet service; the valets were very friendly (thanks, Don) and quick. The only reason I would choose a different hotel if I were to go back to Portland would be location. Downtown didn’t have much appeal for us. I would way rather stay across the bridge on the east side of the river.

My only complaint during our stay was the overpowering perfume/infuser smell in the lobby area. The smell wasn't unpleasant, it was just way too strong while we were trying to eat/drink at the bar. Otherwise, our stay was great.

Just came for a staycation with my kids downtown, the check in was simple and the staff was so friendly. The hotel has a beautiful pool/hot tub area with steam room and sauna and my kids loved it! There are lots of amenities available and the hotel is in a very walkable area. Excellent stay, we will be back again.

The interior decor is really really dark. Some cost cutting measures were pretty evident (paltry coffee service in the room/ cheap toiletries). But it was clean and the staff were friendly. Had breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good.

The hotel was lovely and the staff for check in were very friendly and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean with nice linen and toiletries. There was a bit of a surprise that there was no free parking option, although the valet parking was convenient - adding another $60 to the room night was a bit of a surprise. We went out for dinner, but planned to go to the restaurant on site for breakfast. After sitting down, the waitress informed us that there were no eggs, pancakes or anything made on the griddle, because it was broken. Breakfast ended up being a cup of coffee and a bagel. Sufficient, but not what we expected in a nice hotel. Overall, we would stay again and hope that they can get the appliances in the restaurant fixed.
