"Due to waiting for transport my wife and I arrived in Alvor 90 minutes late, the apartment owner Helga was waiting for us and met us with a hug and a smile and showed us to the apartment which was on the 3rd floor. The apartment had an uninterrupted sea view,it was spotlessly clean ,we literally wanted for nothing,it was all provided .The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise to interrupt the night,the shower was powerful and there was always hot water. "A beautiful property with stunning views of the a castle and towns on cliffs. Their dining area overlooks this view and it's amazing. Buffet breakfast had a good selection. Praia da Rocha is very close and a pleasant walk from the resort. Their big pool is a saltwater pool and we really appreciated to be allowed in our room earlier. "

"The game room, cleaning service, massage and breakfast was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again. Wish they offered a jacuzzi. "

"really good location the only complaint would be we were there in april and weather was cold and rainy unit did not have heater so we canadians thought it very cold helga brought over heaters which helped other wise good location and very well equiped great balcony with great views thanks helga"

"Penina Hotel is lovely and the staff are fabulous. It might be a little tired but as one guest said to me in the lift - she’s a grand old lady - maybe a little tired, but she gets the job done."

"Had 2 bedroom apartment which was huge, great view of the pool. Tried the restaurant one evening and very disappointed by the buffet, not much choice especially for children, lots of dishes empty. Very clean and had everything we needed. Not close to amenities though. Would recommend "
