This 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home boasts an open concept floor plan, with each bedroom featuring a private bathroom. The boardwalk to the beach is located right outside of the balcony making it easy access to the beach. Nestled next to the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, this gated community is perfect for couples or families who are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation while enjoying all the amenities the community has to offer. When you are ready to venture out, visit nearby Port St. Joe for shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Downtown offers cute shops along Reid Avenue, along with many restaurants and grocery stores. Don't forget to check out the historical Lighthouse and Sea Turtle Museum. We love our sea turtles! About 25 miles away is the historical fishing community of Apalachicola. It's perfect for a day trip to do a little shopping, stroll along the Apalachicola River or grab some of the best seafood around!

Pet policy: This home is pet-friendly, and allows up to 2 dogs. If you choose to bring a pet, a charge of $140 will be added to your reservation after you book.

Linens and supplies: This home comes with everything you need! All bed and bath linens are supplied as well as all cookware/dinnerware/glassware in the kitchen. A few essential items are provided upon arrival: Dawn dishwashing soap, one sponge, two dishwasher pods, one garbage bag, one roll of paper towels, one roll of toilet tissue per bathroom, two individual/small bars of soap per bathroom, one laundry powder and one fabric softener.
Age requirement: Minimum age limit to rent this home is 25 years old.
Credit card fee: All payments are subject to a 3.25% credit card processing fee. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.
Rental agreement: A signed rental agreement is required upon booking.
Monthly rentals: SNOWBIRDS WELCOME! Monthly rental rates are available during the winter season, November through early March. Please contact Sunshine Vacation Rentals if you are interested.
Cancellation policy: We strongly encourage our guests to purchase the optional travel insurance to protect your vacation investment. All reservations include an administrative fee of $35 (plus taxes) upon booking which is non-refundable in the event of a reservation cancellation. Credit cards processing fees will be charged upon cancellation which is equal to 3.25% of all payments made.
Reservations canceled at least 60 days before check-in date will receive a 100% refund, minus cancellation fees. Reservations canceled between 30 to 60 days before check-in date will receive a 50% refund, minus cancellation fees. Reservations canceled less than 30 days before check-in date will result in forfeiture of the full advance rental payments and any other payments.

My wife and I had the best vacation at The Barrier Dunes this year. The house was clean, and everything you need to cook with in the kitchen. We also grilled pompano, that we caught from the beach, on the back porch. Perfect Vacation! Thank you!
We loved the place, it’s been our second time in Barrier Dunes. Very close to the beach, very friendly place to stay with your pets! Will definitely come back again

The property was definitely for a family with a lot of children. The dishwasher wasn’t mounted. I opened it and it fell out. Lamps needed replaced. No knobs on those. Living room needed updated. It was a great location, but suited for lots of children
Great pet friendly unit close to the beach. Great views. This is our second year coming to csb and we are in love with this gated community. My only complaint is the shower is super tiny. Will more than likely book this unit again!
We enjoyed our stay. It is a prime location. The house is well stocked with amenities. I would recommend staying there again however there were a few issues.
Home is a little outdated. The lack of actual locks on the glass sliding doors was not the safest. And upon arriving we noticed the cables to the tv in the living room had been ripped out. We contacted property management and they never came to fix it. Luckily we were not there to watch a lot of tv but it was frustrating to not have them even fix it.

What a terrific place!
We stayed for a week with our two dogs, and some extended family for a day here and there. What a great week it was! Place is perfect for us. Dogs loved it, and there were great places to walk them. The whole complex is dog friendly, and it shows. They even have a bunch of little "fenceposts" with no fence on them for dogs to hike a leg.
Complex was quiet and very family friendly. No loud drunks or pounding music. Just nice folks all saying hello as you pass by. Made some friends on the beach and enjoyed some solitude, as well.
View is nice from the balconies. Not oceanfront, but fifty yards from the boardwalk over the dunes, and you can see the ocean from the two rear balconies. The townhouse is very well equipped in the kitchen, with a Keurig and a coffee maker for whole pots. Wife and I just did Keurig all week and enjoyed good coffee. Grilled and cooked in the kitchen all week except a couple of nights. Plenty of bowls/pans/utensils. One pair of tongs for the grill was not great, but we did okay.
Only issue I had was I could not find the switch that turned on the lights under the carport. Not a big deal except when we came home from nighttime beach walks and needed to see to rinse our feet. And the master bed was too soft for my taste, but I like very firm beds, so probably fine for most other folks. We will definitely be back!
The townhouse is good value for the price, located steps from the beach, plenty of spaces to sleep and the complex is wonderful. While it could use some updating, all in all a nice place!
Perfect proximity to beach and state park. The onsite pool was nice. And we were able to walk to Coneheads. The outside sprinkler system was poorly timed and positioned. It would come on at 8am and we would get soaked getting in the car to go to breakfast.
The location to the beach was great with views of the ocean and the path to the beach right outside the door. The home was very comfortable with plenty of room for our family of 5.
