The villa was cozy yet felt very luxurious, with a beautiful private pool that I used throughout the day. Because of that, I often needed extra towels and floor towels, and housekeeping was excellent. They were very responsive and always provided everything I needed. The room was comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It is tired and outdated. The staff and service levels are excellent, and the facilities are decent, but the hotel cannot exist purely on the excellence of its people. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the attention and friendliness towards our children were incredible. The staff went out of their way to make sure our kids felt right at home. They even received a special welcome package, and everywhere we went, they were greeted with a smile. The family-friendly facilities at the hotel are top-notch. The private pools were a wonderful bonus, allowing us to enjoy time with our kids in complete privacy and relaxation. There were plenty of activities for the children, from play areas to organized games and workshops. The staff made sure our kids always had something fun to do and were enjoying themselves. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean, with excellent amenities. The entire hotel exuded luxury and comfort while maintaining a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. In short, Grand Lexis Hotel is the perfect destination for families with children. We felt incredibly welcomed, and our kids had the time of their lives. My son came across nails floating in the private room pool. Room floor was not cleaned there was fair bit of hair on the floor and the shower. Other than that the staff was excellent. Hotel corresponded to me after my booking and acknowledged that I will need a baby cot and will provide it in my room. Arrived the hotel at 12.30pm and was told that I could not check-in early which was understandable. After 45mins of wait, was told that a room of my booking is available and will need 1hour to get the room ready for my stay. I went for lunch outside and was back at 2.45pm, was told that the room was still not ready. Waited again and at 3.20pm when my wife complained about the previous agreement of one hour were we given a room immediately. Room looks old and my wife had insects bites on her legs after a night of sleep. We settled our dinner and breakfast at the hotel. I ended up checking out a day early due to several issues, yet was still charged for the full duration. Unwelcoming Check-In: Despite having fully paid in advance, I was asked to pay additional deposits and tourism tax upfront. I suggested settling the tax at checkout or deducting it from the deposit, but this was not accepted and handled rather inflexibly. Limited Dining Options: There is only one restaurant offering mostly Malay cuisine. Other food options were pre-packed, minimal, and there was no continental fare available. When I requested fresh juice or tea during breakfast, I was told it would cost extra and later that it couldn’t be provided due to lack of staff. Basic and Infrequent Housekeeping: Housekeeping was provided only once during the stay. Even for essentials like bottled water, payment was requested first before delivery. No Recreational Activities: Although the property advertises amenities like bicycles and go-karts, none were actually available. Aside from the room, there was little to do on-site. No Refund for Early Checkout: I left a day early due to the poor experience, but the hotel refused to refund the unused night. Ironically, I was also asked to pay tourism tax for the night I didn’t even stay. They ask to wear mask for breakfast only to open it during breakfast. If didnt wear mask, they ask to return to your room to get it back, then buggy services is less, only for you to walk back to your far away room. Since we dined in everyday, we request for buggy, but have to wait for at least half an hour, sometimes no with no come sue to they miss inform our room no. Then they loss data to the room card key. We just finished lunch in cafe, went to far away room, cannot enter. Then walk back to lobby and was told the card loss data, want to use buggy to returned to room, but denied due to others who are not yet there waiting for it. Otherwise, room is ok, facilities is ok, food is delicious.
