We left early due to our discomfort
From the website, La Villa Serere should be a lovely stay but what we found in the comfort apartment was a dirty bathroom with broken furniture, broken outdoor kitchen and broken generator as our view. The villa kitchen is filthy and covered in bugs that the staff was sending breakfast out of. Being so close to the airport and a newer construction this place should be fabulous but it clearly lacks good management on its upkeep. The pool area is nice and looks like the pictures and is pretty much it's only saving grace. It reminded us of staying in a dilapidated motel from the 1950's in America. Popenguine is a lovely place, you should totally visit and you deserve a nice stay!

The stay at La Villa Serere was extremely pleasant. Nestled in the heart of Thies Region, this eco-friendly property boasts natural beauty equipped with a pool, restaurant on site, beach access, and friendly property caretakers that ensure that the stay at the property is both memorable and enjoyable. Even Airport transfer can be arranged by contacting the property in advance. Only suggestion is to possibly have also a menu or guidebook in English as everything is in French and needed to be physically translated. Overall wonderful stay!

Popenguine is wonderful and this is nice property close to the beach, probably one of the best options there. Pool is nice and staff are great. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location is much closer to the airport than driving into Dakar especially if it’s a layover and a flight out the next morning. There wasn’t any hot water for a shower but didn’t attempt to ask why after I was already in the shower.However, staff was friendly and prompt pickup from the airport.

I never checked into this hotel. This hotel is supposed to be 9 miles away from the airport and it took us over an hour to get to it. The place was very dark and there was NOTHING around, it was located at a dead end. This place is so remote that the taxi driver had no knowledge of how to find this place. I opted not to check in and had to go and find another hotel. It was around 10PM, I'm traveling with a 7yr old and was not even sure if we could get dinner at a place that was so remote. I think that this place should be classified as something else. If I wanted to go hiking or doing nature type activities, then maybe. I wanted a comfortable safe place with some food and based on what I saw in the area, I am not sure they could have given me that. I've stayed at other hotels from your site and even if not great, I did not opt out of checking in. This was not a good experience.

Beautiful villa + Easy Airport Access
My flight into Dakar arrived very late, so I wanted to book a place nearby the airport (The drive into Dakar makes me crazy - it's always way longer than expected). I booked at La Villa Serere just for an overnight stay because of its proximity to the airport and the airport shuttle. I arrived at midnight and they had a driver waiting for me. Took me straight to the Villa. Only a 20 min drive, which for this area is great! The place is beautiful, a little oasis. Big nice room, comfortable bed, and a great staff who were happy to accommodate a 1 am check-in. The proximity to the airport is a huge plus, but I was very surprised at how great of a place it was. Wish I was staying for more than just a night.

Nice hotel, excellent staff
Very well located if you don’t wanna go to Dakar. It is located 25min from the new airport. The shuttle was rather tricky, a very old taxi. The hotel is nice. The air conditioning system was rather noisy. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Perfect for new airport transit
20mn away from the new airport. Arriving mid of afternoon, and departing noon the day after. Ideal alternative to Dakar for tranquility while in transit.

Juste parce que le gérant vous a demandé de payer une bouteille d’eau que vous avez noté notre maison à 2/10 . Nos notes sont très encourageantes. Notre personnel est très serviable.

Una vergüenza para la etnia Sérère
Problema 1: la ubicación y la ausencia de carteles indicadores. Si llegas por la noche no hay modo de encontrarlo más que llamando por teléfono cuando estás en la zona. Salieron a buscarnos para indicarnos el camino. Problema 2: viajábamos con coche de alquiler con chofer y normalmente en los establecimientos hosteleros en Senegal alojan gratis a los chóferes. En este sitio le pusieron a dormir en la terraza. Lo sabemos porque a las 6.30 de la mañana salimos y lo vimos tumbado en un rincón, pero luego nos vinieron con una factura de una habitación doble, más los desayunos y la cena del chofer. No hubo forma de hacer valer lo que habíamos visto y como era nuestra primera noche en Senegal, no quisimos problemas y pagamos. Luego el propietario habló con el chofer, que antes de marcharnos entró de nuevo en el establecimiento. Pensamos que a cobrar su parte. Consideramos que esta actuación lo único que hace es desacreditar al propietario de este alojamiento y a todo su país, cuyo valor principal es la acogida y la hospitalidad. Por cierto, el desayuno de 6 € con café y pan de hace una semana. No es adecuado para hacer una noche si estás de paso.

Nous avons choisi cet hôtel de part sa proximité avec l'aéroport, arrivée de nuit difficile car pas d'indication et de signalisation de l'hôtel pour le chauffeur de taxi. Excellent hôtel au calme proche de la côte
Nous voulions nous reposer à Popenguine avant de reprendre l'avion pour la France et l'Ouganda. L'hôtel est très calme, on peut garer son véhicule devant l'hôtel. Le gérant Ibrahima est très disponible pour vous faciliter le séjour. A 10 min à pied (650m) de l'excellent restaurant l'echo Cotier en bord de mer grâce à un chemin sans circulation.

J'ai aimé l'architecture de la résidence. la disponibilité du personnel qui sur un coup de fil non annoncé est venu nous chercher à l'aeroport à Deux heures du matin. la gentillesse de tout le monde; Le décors de la chambre. Je n'ai pas trop aimé le vieillissement de la salle de bain et la faiblesse de l'éclairage dans la chambre. J'y retournerai.

Una Villa bellissima, ma sperduta su una Collinetta amena, non c'è niente intorno, adatta a persone che cercano un eremo, niente ristorante , vi dovete accontentare della cucina familiare della famiglia locale che custodisce la Villa, non è neanche così vicina all'aeroporto ci vuole mezz'ora per arrivare
