My family and I stayed at Villa Stone in Čatrnja, Rakovica for one night while visiting Plitvice National Park, and I honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer. From the moment we arrived—late in the evening and in the rain—we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Mate, the host.
Mate went above and beyond. Not only did he help us get settled in after our long travel day, but he also cooked us a full homemade dinner, which was a truly generous and memorable gesture. His kindness made us feel less like hotel guests and more like family.
The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It felt like a true countryside retreat. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, with cows and sheep nearby, which kept our children completely entertained.
If you're heading to Plitvice, do yourself a favor and stay here. Between the hospitality, the comfort, and the charm of the location, Villa Stone is easily one of the best places we've stayed on our trip. We cannot recommend it highly enough."

"The property was spotless and comfortable and in a lovely setting. We did have to pay in cash upon arrival. It says to pay at the property but we thought we would have a card option. Anyone staying should be aware of this.
We were staying at the end of April and unfortunately had bad weather. The hosts were making a fire in their home but the chimney was right at our apartment so we were unable to open any of the windows during our stay.
I would recommend this place for a stay but just wanted guests to be aware of what we did not expect."
