"Grounds and surrounding areas very well maintained. The rooms need a deep clean and the furnishings need some attention. Area rug old and frayed. Bottom of doors and walls look worn. Bathrooms need a deep clean."

"I like the hotel and so do my sons this is the second time we’ve stayed there and it’s great. The hotel is great, has lots of facilities and the staff try to attend to everyone as best they can. It just doesn’t feel quite as luxurious as it should for the price. Dirty or not enough glasses for serving drinks, lunch/dinner food can get a bit bland and boring. But there are choices and that makes up for it, and also understandable when catering for a wide and varied customer base. The pools are great although it’s a fight for loungers in the morning. Service at the pools and bars could be better but the staff work very hard so can’t complain too much. It might be different as a couple or adults only, and like I say it’s good just not great or excellent."

"Beautiful resort and accommodation. Everything kept clean and pretty. Female lifeguard at the main pool was super grumpy and would shout at kids for playing with a small ball in the pool, even when the pool was empty. We were always disappointed when we turned up and she was there!"

"Great 2 bedroom, sea facing suite with jacuzzi. Spacious master bedroom and lounge/kitchen area. 2 bathrooms. Great service at the pool bar and restaurant for breakfast. Shuttle to and from Abama beach available. Beach is quite small. We had a hire car so drove to nearby towns for beaches/restaurants etc."
Gran Melia Palacio de Isora

"We stayed at the Gran Melia Palacio Isora in August 2026 (2 adults & 15 year old). The hotel is one of the most beautiful properties we’ve ever stayed in with the pool area a particular highlight. The staff are all incredibly friendly, whether that be in the restaurants, bars, housekeeping or pool attendants - they are a credit to the hotel and we cannot praise them highly enough. We stayed in a deluxe pool facing room which was huge and had every amenity we could need. The bathrooms were spotless and the balcony was one of the biggest I’ve ever seen. The hotel also accommodated our request for hypoallergenic bedding. My only quibble with the room was that the beds are on the firm side - careful if you’re used to a softer mattress. The food in all restaurants was a very high standard and service was super quick. You do need to be quick booking the Italian or Nami on the app (we booked as soon as we checked in but by the following morning, everything was booked up). We would recommend you bring some cans of insect repellent as the flies around the pool area and in the restaurants are persistent and will give you a little nibble. However, they leave you alone when bug spray is applied. We’d also suggest getting a taxi to Los Gigantes (10-15 mins) and doing one of the whale and dolphin tours. The Flipper UNO tour we went on was a highlight. Overall, this is an incredibly beautiful hotel, with some of the finest staff in all of Europe. Highly recommended."

"Photos don’t do it justice so much larger and spacious. Beautiful friendly host, beautiful stunning house, beautiful area with lovely restaurants, gorgeous bay beach all in walking distance. Will return and highly recommend!"

"Amazing villa. Very clean. Fresh. Well equipped. Stunning views from pool area. Amazing staff at the other end of a message to answer all queries. Very central to shops, restaurants beach. All within 10 min walk. We will definitely be returning to Cassangular by upper in the future."
