Although frustrating, this turned out for the best as the Forest Canopy staff and dining experience is far superior. The rooms at Mountain Courtyard are good - we had a studio - and the surroundings are pleasant. Where the hotel falls down is the standard of service. Staff are not particularly pleasant, nor attentive and not well trained. Breakfast and dining halls are just big sheds with benches. There is no air conditioning as its mostly cool, but we were in December winter days. Cleanliness is just OK, very few towels and amenities in the room, no safe box. Big gaps in the doors and windows, so outside noise from outside people and buses was annoying. Internet is very SLOW, and minimal TV channels, mostly local ones. Hard bed and pillows, no bedside tables, and hot water was slow to come. Dinner and breakfast was nice with many varieties and chefs taking orders for any extra preps. However, the hotel staff was too humble and ready to help us move our luggage and settle down. Food was delicious especially the breakfast next day morning. The only thing I did not like in the hotel was the mattresses. They felt like sofa bed spring mattresses of poor quality.
