We have stayed at Kimpton Palomar in Philadelphia at least 4 times over the past 2 years and until this visit have been satisfied. Overall, it's a great property, ideal location, wonderful restaurant downstairs, and relatively safe. Unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations during this stay. When we checked in our room seemed to be really warm. Thermostat read 80 degrees, so we turned the air down to 68 hoping it would cool off while we got a bite to eat. Upon returning, the thermostat read 81. Later in the evening after it was still reading 80 I called to the front desk to ask if someone could come to our room to check it out. I was told by the front desk that they would send someone right up. That was around 9:30 p.m. At midnight no one had showed so I gave up thinking that due to the hour no one would be coming. The next morning I visited the front desk at 7:30 a.m. They apologized and assured me that they would send someone up by 8 a.m. At 8:45 I attempted to call the front desk but there was no answer so I went down to the front desk in person. A different person apologized (not the manager who was hanging out in the doorway to his office casually listening in to the conversation) and said someone would be up right away. A technician came to our room about 10 minutes later, confirmed that it wasn't working and that he would go get the needed part. It was fixed 15 minutes later, right before checking out. Not happy with this stay.
