Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort

Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort

10/10 Excellent
"As we were driving in, before check-in, we were busy marveling at the scenery and looking at the archery & trampolines set up for guest use. A bevy of deer ran across the road, as if on cue, in case we needed reminding where we were. The location is stunning and the check-in process fitting for a property of this calibre. The accommodation itself was well maintained and presented. Our two-bedroom villa backed directly onto the lake offering spectacular morning views. We had a suitably equipped kitchen and a barbecue out on the deck. We didn't get to try Perrotta's Italian but dined at Cuisine restaurant. Wagyu steak is highly recommended. The breakfast, also served at Cuisine, is the usual assortment of hotel buffet fare. Minor issue we had was that the water-heater malfunctioned and required maintenance staff to fix... Not what you want when you've been skiing all day. But it was resolved quickly and without fuss. Perhaps the best feature is the proximity to Bullocks Flat. You can access the Skitube terminal directly from the resort, jumping the queue over everyone coming from Jindabyne. Will stay there again for the next ski-trip. Absolutely."
