Getting Around: The nearest train station to Whitbarrow Village is Penrith North Lakes Railway Station, located approximately 10 miles to the northeast. This station is on the West Coast Main Line and is served by Avanti West Coast, TransPennine Express, and Northern services, offering connections to major cities like Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London. Another nearby station is Oxenholme Lake District Railway Station, about 25 miles to the southeast, also on the West Coast Main Line. This station provides access to Kendal and other parts of the Lake District. For those exploring the central Lake District, Windermere Railway Station is another option. While farther away, it connects to popular destinations such as Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside. From Penrith North Lakes Railway Station, the 105/D1 bus route offers services to Greystoke Village, passing through scenic rural locations. While there is no direct bus route to Whitbarrow Village, taxis or other local transport options are available from the train stations to reach your destination. It's recommended to check bus timetables in advance, as services may operate at limited times, especially on weekends or public holidays.
