Lake View has it all! Fabulous accommodation with beautiful views of the nearby lake and surrounding countryside, a great pub with its own microbrewery just a short stroll away and a cosy wood burning stove to come home too. The cottage is moments away from Lake Ullswater with its many attractions including the Ullswater Steamers, Aira Force and some of the best walks within the Lake District as well as being on the Ullswater Way, a circular route around the lake. Many characterful villages are dotted around the lake with pubs and shops, Another Place Hotel offers fine dining and afternoon teas. Pooley Bridge is a short drive with shops and pubs for casual dining. A trip over Kirkstone Pass will lead you to Bowness on Windermere or Ambleside making exploring the southern lakes easy and Keswick is a 25 minute drive. Lake View is equally suitable for families or 4 couples with 2 bedrooms on each floor all with en-suites, spacious open plan living accommodation with cosy wood burning stove, dining area enjoying lake views and superb kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The lawned garden and terrace offer magnificent views to Ullswater and the fells towering above, perfect for lazy summer days. The LPG centrally heated accommodation comprises: Enter through a sheltered porch to the spacious open plan living, dining, kitchen, comfy sofas with a wood burning stove and TV. A glazed dining area opens onto the terrace with views down the valley, the terrace also has table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with a large island and seated breakfast bar, electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine (please bring your own pods), wine cooler, dishwasher and electric boiling water tap. A separate sitting room also benefits from views over the lake and has comfortable sofas, TV and an inset LED electric fire. The rear lobby houses a washer/dryer and leads to a slate tiled bathroom with a shower over the bath. Ground floor twin bedroom. Double bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. Very well kitted out and newly renovated to a high standard. We were happy to be able to split our time and cook at home, but also take advantage of being super close to a pub and to Another Place for spa/posh food/etc. It was very easy to get to other places and the bus runs by for pooley bridge and Glenridding regularly. The neighbour sells his own honey, which was delicious. The beds and bedrooms were all very comfortable; each room is en-suite. The top floor and lounge have lovely views onto ullswater. The separate TV room was perfect for kids to settle into and have their own space while adults relaxed in the lounge. Note to others, there wasn’t any tea/coffee or leftover oils etc from previous guests so I suggest making sure you have a delivery or stop at a local shop en route. The Pooley Bridge shop (upstairs from the off license) has an amazing array of local goodies which we highly recommend! We would book again as it was a great space and would work well for friends or couples or families, rain or shine.
